Experiment: Pick 16

How would you set up a contest of picking the 1st and 2nd place teams in each division?

  • You could do eight exactas, ie 1st and 2nd in the correct order.
  • You could do eight quinellas, ie 1st and second in either order.
  • You could parlay the above
  • You could give points for the correct team and place with fewer points for one place off.
  • You could try something else.

Some consideration needs to be given to ease of scoring and tiebreaker procedures.

This is intended for office use, but I can see it going to a much larger audience. Like picking the NCAA tournament, getting everything right will be difficult to impossible.

Yeah i agree. Pick 1-2 and assign 3 points for the right spot, and 1 point for the wrong spot

What about five if you have the right #1, three if you have them second, three for the right #2, and two if you have them first.

That's eight points for the exacta, five for the quinella, with five, three, and two for single picks.
