Not many, but more than would without a chance to put good plays on film. There’s nowhere else providing opportunities to make a practice squad, the end of a roster, or play in the XFL or USFL.

The fact that the NFL hasn’t actively pursued a developmental league is baffling. Especially with the proliferation of gimmick offenses in the NCAA failing to prepare young players for the NFL style. Linemen can’t block. QBs can’t make more than one read before running. It doesn’t have to be as robust as the MLB minor league system, but every other major sports league has a minor league. The NFL dwarfs them all in revenue. They could easily support one. Even if it loses money, putting on a better quality NFL product would pay dividends.
SemperFeist
The NFL makes money hand over fist. Fans have proven that the quality of the product doesn’t matter, they’ll still watch and spend money on it. A minor league for the NFL is an unnecessary expense.

Would an NFL product make money hand over fist or would an NFL product be an unnecessary expense? Post unclear

While this thread isn't on topic, I'll be interested to see the impacts NIL has on developing talent for the NFL. Will it make it worse (because kids keep jumping from school to school, whoever allows them to make more money) or will it be a boon (because kids will end up staying longer)?
