Excited....but...

Steelers sound pretty confident going against a team that would have been a very hard, if not impossible, matchup for them last year, even when they were improved in the second half. Does anyone else think the Steelers are doing too much talking in the days leading up? They haven't won a game yet...you have a receiver talking super bowl, a corner calling an opposing QB predictable, AND now the apparent inference that the offensive scheme is not so genius in San Fran. Shut up and prove it on the field! worry about motivating yourselves, not the other team...

I blame it mostly on the times and the media. I think players speaking out is going to become a lot more common due to the rise of podcasts. I also hate that the media is crowning us as the popular sleeper team, but I don't think that's in the players control at all. I think we do a lot better as underdogs.

I think the big thing is Tomlin plays huge into that thing. Think of 2019 when Ben was injured. We nearly made the playoffs with a worse OL, worse RB, worse QB, worse WR room, worse defense.

So you upgraded that, got rid of the issues in the clubhouse, and kept this coach who always keeps you competitive? It’s the easy pick. Interestingly tied to this:

While this is true, my issue is that this is probably the heaviest top tier the AFC has had in a long time. While we've improved greatly, I'm not sure we're better than any of the "elite" teams. I feel confident that we could beat anyone on any given Sunday. I just also think anyone could.

All the people that have us as a sleeper also have us losing in the WC round.

I think playing into it is the AFC doesn’t really have a ‘middle class’ this year. It’s really us and the titans. Otherwise you suck or look great.

A lot of this I like. DJ talking Super Bowl. Ok, maybe once you don't lead the league the in drops.

PP talking is fine. He can talk.

Shanahan is the same guy who had the choke of all chokes losing to Brady. That said, he calls a better game than maybe all but five guys in the game. They will absolutely chunk us to death.

McCaffrey 9 yard reception. Deebo Samuel 14 yard reception. McCaffrey 4 yd run. It'll look like one of my Madden drives. Just beautiful chunks down the field. A construction of glory.

Just finish ahead of the Browns is all I ask.

This comment is a fun joke, but so is this feed. They'll go 5-12 worst case. 9-8 or 10-7 most likely. And best case 12-5. Thank you, captain obvious.

I secretly root for 5-12. Side eye. Just bc I think they suck and are not going to win it all. So you might as well not win. And I'd trade Watt for two first rounders. That's the only way that would happen. Let's get picks and run this. Trade him, just bc, salary cap with age, and House of Watt injury concerns. They seem to play the game in which they break down easily or are brittle. Cash out that slot money now before it's all gone. But I do love Watt, just not like I love Troy, or even Wood, or Pickens, or Warren, or guys I'd never trade.

To that veil, I think they lose to SF.

Could get upset if Chubb runs it down their throat. Do they have good run defense? I'm not sure. I'm not sure Holcomb vs Chubb is anything but Bo on Bosworth. Just saying, bro. Roberts might have more sand in his pants for the role.

Possibly 0-2 start.

Raiders somehow beat them bc they always lose West Coast. However, conditional, night game, probably a win. Still hoping for loss.

Texans win.

Ravens loss.

Rams win.

Jaguars win.

Titans loss.

Packers win.

Browns loss.

Bengals loss.

Cardinals win.

Pats loss.

Colts loss.

Bengals loss.

Seahawks loss.

Ravens loss.

Tomlin loss.
