He's been good overall for us, but too many injuries. I was surprised when we extended him and now that's looking like a bad decision.

Yeah he won't retire either we owe him to much. We will roll him out with duct tape up to his neck.

One more reason to clean house in Cleveland after the season. Almost everyone knew this was a terrible extension for way too much money for a guy who everyone knew was one injury away from completely coming apart. My guess is this is the end of meaningful football for Conklin.

I have no idea how the cap works in this regard but is there some sort of injury settlement for the Browns to pay to get out of his contract. He is pretty much toast at this point with all the injuries piled up but the Browns are still on the hook for 3 years with his deal. He might even hang em up to be honest (unfortunatly, obviously).

He would have to pay us back if he retires unless we strike an agreement.

Good to know, I know the NBA has 'buy outs' of the contract for players who either dont want to fulfil their contract or if they are just injured 24/7. I figured the NFL might have some sort of similar rule. Pay the remaining GTD money/bonuses and rip the contract up type of thing.
