Giants4eva
I know its a bit early to write this and were all still celebrating win #1, but unfortunately guys were on a short week this time around. 49ers are arguably the top team in the NFL this early in the season. Brock Purdy has been nothing short of sensational. And their defense is possibly the #1 or #2 D in the league. Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel compounded with a healthy Christian McCaffrey is going to give this defense nightmares. The Rams put up a good fight with them in their recent contest but the 49ers knew how to take care of business. I dont see this being much of a contest guys. You have 2 pro bowl caliber WRs in Aiyuk and Samuel ready to feast on our 2 rookie CBs. And we have just not been able to contain the run in the first 2 weeks. CMac will run the ball down our throats if this defense doesnt step up. And if you ask me the defense right now is broken. Bad LB play, no pressure generated up front, nobody flying in off the edge. This is just gonna not end well this one. The offense will hopefully have AT back on the left side but well see, dont think its gonna make a difference in this one. Evan Neal is going to have his hands full with Nick Bosa and the guy im the most scared of Fred Warner on that defense. He is just a superstud on that 2nd level for the niners. DJ is on his own in this one, it will take a miracle to pull this out. No Saquon this game im almost 100% certain and bad guard play??... Ya this one will be a laugher. The point spread is already 10.5 pts. I fully believe its gonna be worse. We are just not ready right now. minutemancl
Early spread is 49ers -10. Sounds about right.
Shockwave
I have no aspirations of winning this game but....I have a feeling we somehow make it competitive. Thurs night, short week, on the road without our most lethal weapon. All seems to point to a blowout...so the Gmen will actually play well. This is one of those games where a hard played loss is actually a win. Going to need that momentum going home to take on Seattle. Niners: 20 Gmen: 14 Hyatt is going to get his first TD in this game and Waller finds the endzone.
minutemancl
The Giants went into week 1 with some sort of delusion that they could hold up against the Cowboys pass rush with their OL. I think they learned a valuable lesson there and will gameplan in mitigating the strengths of the Niners defense, which is their front and the speed of their LBs. The Rams have a worse OL than us, but they threw 55 passes and only allowed 1 sack. There are ways to help ourselves out in that aspect. The biggest mismatch this week is the Niners running game vs our run defense. Even with the additions of Okereke, A'Shawn Robinson, and Nacho, our run defense is still garbage. That is due to a combination of Okereke not playing up to his standards, Micah Mcfadden being bad (expect his snaps to slowly reduct until he is phased out almost completely), and the Giants making really puzzling DL decisions, including playing DJ Davidson a lot and taking Dex and Leo off the field in important situations. We have the talent to fix the run defense this year, but I don't see that happening during a short week. That said, these Thursday night games are normally crap because the limited rest is straight up insane for both teams. Expect a sloppy one. Rams OL looks pretty damn solid.

It's still too early to completely throw away pre-season rankings. I do agree though, the Rams blocked well last week. Important to note they did keep in an extra guy most of the time. I mean they just like a very solid pass blocking unit. You are going off proven names and they may not have them but the youngsters are playing well. They impressed me last week. And yeah I agree with you that they played well, but it is too small a sample size to change my opinion yet. If we get through 6 games and they still look that good, then yeah of course I'll change my tune.
GMENNATION
In a weird, sick, demented way I'm excited for this game. With Kittle and McCaffery needing a ton of attention, we should see more of Isaiah Simmons. I want to see a bigger sample size with him out there. With Okereke and Simmons (hopefully) occupied with the RB and TE, Banks and Hawkins should be on the biggest island they've been on yet. I guess Wink could go back to a zone-heavy approach but I really hope not. KT should not be dropping back into coverage as much as he has been. Put some pressure on Purdy and go get aggressive. We may end up losing by 21+ that way but better than dying a slow death.
y*so*blu
If we won this game without Saquon it could be the upset of the year. Just saying, we beat Seattle on the road with no Saquon and no Daniel, so anything's possible.

Aiyuk may or may not play, but it's going to be the CMC and Deebo show. Those are the two you guys will need to lock into. If Aiyuk plays, then obviously he's going to be a big threat as well and will be the true #1 WR. The Niners haven't always been the best against mobile QBs. Daniel Jones should be able to do some damage with his legs this game.

minutemancl
Oof, that's rough. 4 starters, including the 2 best we have along the OL. Max protect all game.
Giants4eva
No AT and no Barkley... this is gonna get ugly fast. Ive basically given up on Azeez ever staying healthy. Theres times i forget this dude is on the team. No real loss, his mop up duty sacks he gets are inflated anyway.
minutemancl
The Giants have functioned well when woefully undermanned in recent history. At Denver in 2017 and at Seattle in 2020 come to mind. I still don't think we win, but I think it will be closer than a lot of people expect it to be. The benefit, if there is one, of losing Bredeson and Thomas for this game is that there are no thoughts at all of our OL holding up man on man against the 49ers front. There were definitely adjustments made this week to help out those guys on the line. With a fully healthy OL, maybe there are some thoughts that our 5 can hold up enough to maybe run some 4, 5 man routes. You absolutely will not see any of those tonight. Funnily enough, you know what was remarkably successful against the Cardinals? 3 man routes with Slayton, Waller, and Hyatt, and that was because of the speed and deep threat presented by just those 3 guys. It opened up a lot underneath.
