No, but seriously..not a shock given Lewis. He's basically refused to put him onthe field at all from what I have gathered. Seems that this was always destined to be a redshirt year.

Marvin Jones his rookie season had about 6 targets at this point in the year.  He finished his rookie season with 18 catches for 201 yards.  Marvin just don't like young talent.  And thinks special teams is more important than explosive plays...

The inability to utilize high picks as rookies is a serious disadvantage in today's NFL.

Meh to be fair his rookie season isn't any worse than Breshad Perrimans... or Kevin White's...or...I'm noticing a trend here. Recency bias I guess?

He should be fine lewis rarely plays rookies anyway,  though Tyler Boyd got plenty of playing time last year as a rookie and for some reason has gotten phased out of the offense himself...

Huh. Wonder what the actual reasons are...

So let me get this straight.  He practices fully every week.  Never on the injury report.  Then disappears on IR with the same shoulder injury that sidelined him during camp?

What in the world is going on here?

According to the attached, this was the opposite shoulder to the one previously injured:

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21693858/john-ross-cincinnati-bengals-put-injured-reserve-shoulder-injury

Ross missed practice with a shoulder injury on Wednesday, even though he had not been on the injury report and Bengals coach Marvin Lewis had said only hours before that he had a chance to play Sunday. Ross was placed on injured reserve shortly afterward.

The injured shoulder was not the same one that Ross had surgery on prior to the draft, according to Bengals.com.

John Ross just needs to stay healthy and he will be an incredible asset on the field. Not like Perriman who has been reasonably healthy this year, but also an absolute disaster on the field.

Ross has hands, speed, and route running to give him a high floor as long as he can get/stay on the field. Perriman has speed. Not comparable, IMO.

Still voted for Charles Rogers.  6'2, 202, 4.4 40 flat, had the single season touchdown record, going to his hometown team.   Consensus top five pick with the potential to be the next dominant perennial pro bowl receiver.  He should have been what Julio is.

John Ross was drafted ninth, but he widely considered a reach at that point.  Dude was a 40 time, a medical report that could figuratively stretch 40 yards and not much else.
