Gotham= Nothing

 2WR/2TE(70%),  3WR/1TE(30%)
West Coast passing game, set up with zone rushing attack.
Pass (55%), Run (45%)

Zone concepts in the running game, we want to get our athletic OL on the move and create cut back opportunities for our talented backs.   Chris Jones will be the focus in the passing game, he will get doubled throughout the game.   We are comfortable with our OL and will look to use our TE’s and RB’s more in the passing game this week.

Passing game:
We look to target the middle of the field this week against Gotham.   We’ll look to hit our outside guys on crossers and posts.  We expect quite a bit of Man coverage this week and we believe we have the skill guys in the middle to take advantage of that.  Kelce will be used mostly from a slot position, but used frequently in motion, to see if we can get Gotham to show their coverage.    If in man,  Richardson has full authority to move the pocket and make plays with his feet.   We look to keep middle of Gothams defense eyes busy with the run game, passing game, and with Richardson’s feet.

Running game:
We look to target Gotham inside and outside this week,  but will focus mostly on off tackle.  We want to come out and establish the run early with a rotation between our 3 backs.   Running early and often we believe we can wear down the Gotham front 7 to slow down the pass rush late.  Expect 10+ touches for each our our RB's in the running game, screen game, and as an outlet receiver.   We want to take advantage of Richardson's feet in the redzone and will shift to more read options when we get close to the endzone.

Goal #1 –  Establish the run early
Goal #2 -   Target the middle seams in the passing game
Goal #3 -   Let Richardson play free

Alignment/Scheme:  4-2 Nickel

Sub-Package: 4-1 Dime
Edge: Sam Williams  /  Derick Hall
UT: Dexter Lawrence / Foley Fatukasi
NT: DJ Reader / Khalen Saunders
Edge: Joe Tryon / Dayo Odeyingbo
LB: Kwon Alexander
Rover:  Daxton Hill
CB: Trent McDuggie
CB: Donte Jackson
NB: Kenny Moore
FS: Bryan Cook
SS: Richie Grant

We will go zone heavy this week in our matchup against Gotham.   Kwon Alexander gets the start this week alongside Mosley this week at LB.    As one of the best coverage LB’s in the league, we think he fits this matchup extremely well.   While we will stick with a majority of zones this week, we want to make sure we mix them up; rotating heavily between Cover 2/ 3 / 4 / 6.   We will look to run most of zone with our CB’s pressing off the line.

In our sub package, we will leave Kwon in the game.   This week will look to drop Dax Hill down and get him more involved in the mid passing game.  With Kwon and Daxton in the middle of the field we feel confident in our ability to lock down the middle of the field.  We like our ability to show multiple looks in our subpackage with the 3 safety looks,  and can flip between zone responsiblies.

Pass Rush:
Our interior rush should have quite the week this week.   We want to rotate the big guys early to make sure Dex and DJ are available for 3rd downs.    Rush lanes this week will be important and we’ll emphasize this with our edge players, while we want to them getting off the ball,   l our main focus is to keep Gotham’s QB in the pocket so our interior can rattle him.  Sacks are important, but we want to make sure Dak doesn't have anywhere to escape and let the interior pressure force him into some risky throws.

Run Defense:
While Bijan has been good this year,  we feel comfortable with our DL and LB’s stopping the run.   Gap control and let Mosley/Kwon flow as stack LB’s against this front.

Goal#1: Heavy zone concepts
Goal#2:  Keep Dak in the pocket
Goal#3:  Pressure the outside WR’s off the line
