And nelson is probably the number 1 player on their board because they need interior Oline help

Nelson is great and one of those hard to pass up players (I doubt he lasts as long as you have him lasting) but IOL is not #1 on our list by any stretch of the imagination sorry that's just not right. If you want to know what most of us Rams fans list as our priority the top 3 would be CB, Edge and a LT to eventually take over for Whitworth. Saffold and Brown have both been very good the last half of the year in pass protection and good in run blocking. Granted 2018 is each players final contract year. But it's hardly our biggest need. Sullivan has been very good at Center and Blythe has been just as good as him when he's come on for Sully. I'd probably put IOL 5th after a NT on our needs list.

No guard will go as early as you want him to and Staley is gonna retire, i'm sure of it

nothing has indicated Staley will retire. He could have had a chance to get traded to a contender this year and he didn't. He still wants to play all the time - dude fractured an orbital bone and missed one game. He's not going anywhere, I think.

And Guards go that early, this wouldn't be unprecedented. It wouldn't even be the highest a guard has gone in the last 5 years.  Nelson will be a top 10 pick. I would agree that it's not often that they go in the top 10, but I don't think it's very often that you get a player of Nelson's caliber either. He's got a legit claim to being a top 5 player in this draft overall

If Nelson goes top 10, it'd be at 10

Why?

Just to clarify, not to say you're wrong, I'm just trying to uncover the reasoning. He's an elite prospect in this draft and one of the better guard prospects that has come out in a long time (actually I'd say he's the best guard prospect to come out in a long time).  There are teams with the need. Are you just not high on him? Because teams have shown they would take a guard in the top 10 before. Not common, but it happens, especially in the right draft and situation. Or do you really think that teams are just going to eschew him based on his position. I guess what I'm asking is, is it the player or the position that has you down on him. Strictly the position? That's what it seems like, but I didn't want to just assume.

I think i would take any of the 3 guys listed next to minnesota over the Falcons pick :)   But he is pretty good value there and is a solid returner so i wouldn't hate the pick just WR wouldn't be my 1st choice in the next draft.  More like my 4th or 5th position i would take on my chart.
