What is the point of the last 3 months if hes just going to play again for the Colts this year.

He really had no leverage. He and his agent seemingly bet on themselves and that the Colts would give in, but that sure didn't work out.

His only chance at the big payday he's looking for is to completely ball out for the remainder of the year.

Play as few games as possible for a league year credit to wind his FA clock down without the same wear and tear, while seeing if his absence would motivate the Colts to pay him.

He had little to no leverage, so getting paid to rehab a probably minor injury while accruing a salary and year of contract service was his only truly realistic option.

He played the card, the colts didn’t trade him.

Now he can ball out and get tagged or sign elsewhere.

Title is misleading, he is still on the PUP list, he could be removed in the next 21 days. Maybe even by Sunday.

Talk was the teams who made offers for JT didn’t meet the Colt's requirements. Colts would rather resign him than trade him for less.

The idea that was spread around that the Colts weren’t willing to pay him is based on the confusion people had over the Colts not willing to extend an injured player.

When you say, "the idea was spread", do you mean to say, "the owner directly said they weren't going to pay him because 'no one would remember him'"?
