I am assuming that it would be one of those mythical GM's that is superior to Gute But is also somehow willing to trade Green Bay assets for our trash* * Broadly speaking. I don't believe Bakhi is a trash player

Maybe something conditional, where if he is actually able to play you would get a pick of some sort in 2025, and if he can't play again you get nothing. Can't imagine there are many that would want to sign up for the Bak experience at this point.

If he can play, we'd keep him, if we want to trade him, he can't play.

He's either getting traded or cut unless they can work out a restructure or extension to lower that cap hit.
spilltray
No one else is taking on that contract either. Best case scenario for Bakh is a 1-2 year deal heavily tied to playing time.

I just meant it is roughly speaking the money we are freeing up by cutting Bak. Drafting O-line and figuring out RB in free agency. Guys hitting free agency: Swift, Pollard, Henry, Elliott, Cook, etc. - restructure Jones and get one of them. Ragnarok
Jacobs and Barkley are hitting FA too. Zero reason to give up any asset for a RB. We definitely need to draft a guy in the middle rounds, and sign a guy to a deal in FA, but no trading.
Refugee
This is a cynical thread for week 5. It could be titled, Packers one win away from playoff spot and would also be accurate.

MacReady
This year is the year we REALLY need to reset our OL foundation, but more and more it’s looking like DeJean is going to be that safety/slot specialist who breaks into the top half of the first round. Jim Leonhard getting him started in this league is just too good a prospect to pass up. I was hoping he’d have a quiet year, but that punt return for a TD and the hype he’s building… More than just a handful are starting to see the potential he has to be that next Minkah Fitzpatrick game changer. Even I was surprised to see he’s listed at 6’1, 207. Same as Fitzpatrick. He tracks the ball better than anyone I’ve seen and has that QB mind. For his sake, if we still have Barry I want him on any other team. But if we get him paired up with a fresh young defensive mind… We’re talking a return to the Woodson days of beautiful pick sixes and exotic DB blitz packages.

You need to focus on the 300+ lb guys in round one and make the team that drafts DeJean your backup team.

Zycho32
This is going to sound stupid, but aren't we cursed with a bunch of safeties who are best deployed at this slot corner position as it is?
