Not making the 4th down would have effectively ended the game. I would have kicked the FG and left it to the defense. Turns out they got the first so it won't be questioned too much. It also turns out that making the first ended up only being to their detriment as it chewed up valuable seconds before the eventual turnover. They would have been better off turning it over on downs.
