The inclusion of Hurts at the exclusion of Dak is.. interesting. Dak has objectively been better.

Cousins also was very much in the conversation before the Achilles injury.

Dak lost to the only 2 good teams he played. Hurts beat both the good teams he played.

This. Today wasn’t an MVP audition. NYG are in a body bag. Nor was it against any of the other dead bodies they’ve played. Dak’s auditions were against the Eagles and the 49ers and MVPs don’t lose both (and in the case of the 49ers, go limp) in these games.

The only thing Dak really has over Hurts is turnovers and completion %.  Hurts has 22 total TD's. Dak has 18. Hurts has 2663 total yards. Dak has 2550. Hurts beat Dak. Dak lost to Hurts. Hurts beat the Dolphins. Dak got curb stomped by SF. Hurts is super handsome. Dak is just average.

I really don't think there's a situation where Stroud could get anywhere near to winning MVP. I just don't think the voters are going to vote for a rookie even if the rest of the QB's this year aren't having statistically huge and significant seasons.

Sure he can. NO QB is running away with the award right now which means it's open season.

If a Rookie QB can win the AFCS after drafting #2 overall, somehow get a 11-6 type record or better, make the playoffs,  godforbid win a playoff game while continuing to break numerous NFL rookie QB records?

The NFL lives for that type of Hype. Just unlikely that continues while no one else goes bananas as well.

How did Dak play in the Eagles game? He obviously outperformed Hurts. You’re citing a team stat. Let’s not act like Dak wasn’t impressive in that game, let alone the last many games as the offense has gotten accustomed to their new scheme.

He’s unquestionably performing better than Hurts. If Dak had Hurt’s turnover numbers you’d be referencing that.. and the forum (and media in general) would be killing him over it.

Funny how you can get away with a few mistakes when you have the best record in the league and actually beat some of the good teams on your schedule.

You’re referencing stats when Dak has had multiple games where he sat out in the 4th quarter. He had 400+ yards and 5 touchdowns today and he didn’t even see the 4th quarter. You’re referencing total touchdowns with how many tush push touchdowns for Hurts? Not that I think the play is cheap.. but it’s more so about the total offense/ line being so dominant on that play. Do we really think a Dak or Josh Allen couldn’t execute the same thing in that same situation with Philly?

You also didn’t paint a clear picture of the stats, anyway.. while conveniently disregarding turnovers.

Dak: 2550 total yards - 2415 passing, 135 rushing.. and he had held back on the running until recent. 25 total touchdowns - 23 passing 2 rushing.. again, had held back on his rushing until the last several games. 70.7% completion percentage. I’ll let you look up his 3rd down numbers and how he’s best in the game on that down right now. 6 total turnovers, all interceptions.

Hurts: 2663 total yards - 2347 passing with 5 more passing attempts than Dak.. 316 yards rushing with 88 attempts. Hurts’ 88 rushing attempts are more than double Dak’s 31 - again, Dak hadn’t been using his legs much until recently during his stretch of tearing it up. Hurts has 15 passing touchdowns (2 less than Dak) while having 7 rushing touchdowns - again, the team being dominant/ unstoppable on the tush push has a lot to do with this. How about turnovers? Hurts has more turnovers than games played with 10 in 9 games - 8 interceptions and 2 fumbles lost.

So Hurts has a slight edge in bulk yardage due to having 88 attempts as a rusher while having 5 more attempts as a passer. In what world does that equate to him being better and an MVP candidate while Dak supposedly isn’t? It doesn’t make sense. And again, Dak and his offense were sluggish to the season given the adjustment to McCarthy’s offense. Obviously it’s been clicking since the Niners game + the bye week and they’ve looked fantastic. If they stay on course it’d be absolutely ridiculous to leave Dak out of the conversation.

It’s funny how you want to reference Dak having a tough game against the Niners knowing full well that Hurts had a terrible performance against the Jets.

Neither hurts nor dak is winning it anyway

Probably not, but a lot of that also happens to be related to Dak having the star on the side of his helmet. Even if he stays on the pace he has been on for the last 4 games and Dallas somehow secures the division and a top seed.. he’d probably be dismissed.

Out of curiosity, who do you have for MVP?
