agarcia34
Washington hiring Bob Myers is funny. Bob did great for the Warriors. Calling him the architect of the Warriors is a slap in the face of Jerry West and Larry Riley. Don’t really get the hire for Washington Edited January 11 by agarcia34

Wouldn't hate it if the alternative is poor mans Vrabel and Champ Kelly. So within a few hours you've gone from saying defensive head coach puts us behind the 8 ball to suggesting we hire a defensive coach. On brand!
Nightmare
https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-coaching-gm-tracker-latest-news-interviews-developments-in-2024-hiring-cycle Scroll to the ‘HC/GM Interviews’ section on this. No mention of Adam Peters on there - an oversight, possibly? But it seems very detailed otherwise, including who has completed interviews already for all teams. Probably just in town to shoot the ish and wish his former best in retirement. Scared the hell out of Oregon fans though. probably made some money off that trip too lol

RaidersAreOne
Could it simply be the case we are fully committed to AP and our GM interviews will note they are to be tied to him for the upcoming season? Weird situation atm.

If so, AP and Champ both already satisfy that- provided interviews have occurred for the in-house guys. I think it's probably more likely than not it's Harbaugh or AP as the guaranteed fallback, which would keep them more or less above-board. Harbough's season just ended like 2 days ago so.... Weird situation atm. It is odd that they haven’t even attempted to comply with the Rooney Rule first, which they’d have to do even if they hire Pierce. According to the NFL they have to: 1. Clubs must interview at least two diverse candidates from the Career Development Advisory Panel list, or a diverse candidate not currently employed by the club. Maybe Mark really is just doing the whole thing from a ‘hire the GM then let them hire the HC’ method. It’s definitely a disadvantage in terms of dominoes potentially falling before we even get to them, though. He also admitted that he was zoned in on Gruden and JMD which got him into trouble. I think he wants to take his time and get it right, he’s got a new stadium and facilities but he needs a great coach to make it worth it.

Weird situation atm. Mark Davis literally just did an interview 2 weeks ago where he said he wants to hire a GM first and then allow them to hire their coaching staff. 44 minutes ago, ronjon1990 said: Technically, don't they only have to satisfy Rooney? No they do not count for the Rooney rule, it has to be two candidates outside of the building and we still have to announce and conduct interviews with them. The fact that we haven't announced an interview with Kelly leads me to believe he's gone.
