    • Keep BB for the foreseeable future. Careful what you wish for.

    • Give him another season with the high draft pick and cap room coming.
      6
    • Let him coach out the rest of the season and then go. He's done.

    • He should have been gone a while ago.

Whatever about Tom Brady. Yes, the offense was always in good hands with The Goat QB. Let's look at other factors for a second, because I am confused.

Things we often heard about the Patriots for the best part of 20 years;

- They're the most prepared team in the league

- They never fumble, and they take care of the football all the time

- They practice for every single possible outcome, they're ready for any eventuality

- Always in a position to win the game, and usually do so

- They'll always have the best Special Teams because Bill values it just as much as the other two aspects of the game, unlike any other coach

- They get the best out of players, even if they aren't the most talented

- They're the most disciplined team in the league, every year and they'll never beat themselves

- BB zigs when every one else zags and he's innovative

Here's what we are now.

- 9th most penalised team (only 2 calls behind most penalised)

- 2nd worst average time per drive with 2nd fewest trips to red zone

- 4th from dead last in turnover differential (-5)

- 31st in PPG on offense with 15, and 26th in PPG on D - giving up 25.3

- Started 5 games out of 9 by being AT LEAST 10-0 down

- Reliant on having a short field to score any points

- We have lost to a team that is deliberately tried to lose, AT HOME

- We are a team that now gets the WORST out of players (see Jonnu Smith going for another 100 yards and a TD this week, meanwhile Gesicki 0 catches).

- Second worst in points on ST

- Ended two games in a row with fights at the end

- Gave up 3 penalties in a row on ST, giving them a first down

We beat ourselves, we are ill disciplined, we are dumb, we have little talent, we have one of the worst special teams in the league.

This goes completely against what has made Bill Belichick Bill Belichick. And most of them are nothing to do with Brady not being there.

What's happened to him/us in these regards?

I like to add three things.

1.   Sticking to the same old system. The game is speed and passing not grinding it out running, relying on the QB (Brady) to bail you out on 3rd and long. Also relying on defense/ST to win games. The rules and cap make it nearly impossible to win with just a defense.

2.  The coaching staff is a bunch of kids/interns, and yes men. They lack football knowledge. Basically the staff is awful. EX Lacrosse player coaching DBs.

3.  Lack of knowledge drafting and filling needs. Groh is just another kid/yes men on the staff who lacks experience. He a stat guy. Ex Thornton and Strong and Strange, all about the numbers.   Relying on stop gaps that don't pan out. EX Cam Newton, Riley Reiff and a bunch of OL off the scrap heap.

Note.  I laugh when I hear the argument that they draft well and point to Gonzales and White.  I had both of  them as  potential picks at 14 ,  watching the combine and Y Tube for 5 minutes.  The reason why the Pats pick them was the same reason why the Pats miss on others in the draft. Brain dead GM that don't know their butts from their elbow. See 3 above.

Remember the Pats passed on Gonzo at 14. They were damn lucky the NFL have morons running teams.  EX Commanders picked another CB over Gonzo rated low 1st/ 2nd RD. Emmanuel Forbes.

I had both Gonzo and White as possible picks at 14. Me, a guy that sit on a coach watching YT videos !!!!!

The lack of discipline & seemingly unpreparedness are the two most surprising.  The two DB's being disciplined this week are an example of where something is amiss in the locker room maybe?

Exactly.  Complete head scratchier why they are still here ????? I could care less of need or cheap/ cap reasons. They are a symbol of a losing team with no chance.

Stop Gaps and old Pats players. How many times was Collins brought back!!!! Than they don't draft a LB to fill the desperate need.

While I don't see Belichick surviving much long as the Patriots coach, the biggest issue with the team is Mac Jones.

I would say its the OL.

Mac is a disappointment but take him out of the mix.

There is not QB available in the NFL or college that would do any better behind this O line if you ever want to call it that.

Texas Hs have better OL that the Pats.

Also I would add coaching staff as a major problem.

Here is my biggest issues in order.

1. BB GM --- and his coaching staff. Complete disaster. They have a Lacrosse player with 3yrs experience as the Safety coach and a bunch of interns.

2. OL

3. WR

4. Mac Jones.  Note here,  I list Mac 4th however he still a major disappointment. I don't care about his numbers it the head scratchers that flames me. He was suppose to be smart with the ball ?????? Overthrow in panic situation and interceptions that a HS kid wouldn't make.

Side note:  the media saying the coaching staff are pissed at Mac,  means nothing, a bunch of BS to cover their own butts for the crap they put out there.

Bruins Harry Sinden and Celts Red would do the same thing when things went bad.

It really cannot be overstated how badly Belichick set Mac up to fail.

3 OCs in 3 years (including Matt Patricia)
letting Patricia put Kendrick Bourne in the dog house despite him having been the closest thing the team had to an explosive WR last year
getting rid of his favorite WR and replacing him with Zombie JuJu
not addressing the OT position in any of the last 3 drafts despite it being an obvious, glaring need
low-balling DeAndre Hopkins
having him endure multiple benchings despite all of this

at least Kyle Shanahan had the courtesy to trade Lance when he realized staying in SF wasn't going to be a viable path forward for him
Belichick treated Mac like the son he wishes he never had.

I don't like Mac and never really was particularly bullish on him, but even I can't help but feel sorry for the kid at this point.

Oh!

Let's not forget that the Pats did jack squat to try to unload assets at the trade deadline and set themselves up for next season well after the writing was on the wall for this year. Why are Josh Uche and Kyle Dugger still on the team when everyone with a working brain knows they won't be back next year?

What would the Patriots have gotten for them? Basically the same thing they will in comp picks if they sign elsewhere.

Yeah Gonzo fell into their laps. As did White I suppose who looks a good pick, but I remember thinking I wouldn’t mine offense here. I’d argue I’m still right on that.

Your point 1 is true. And it’s worrying. The game has passed him by, or he’s too stubborn to change. We look slow and talentless out there.

Comp picks are 2 years out. Picks in 2024 are more valuable than picks in 2025.

Also add they won't get any comp picks.  They will sign FA to off set.  So trade them even for a 7th RD pick. There are plenty of 7th RD players that are better than what we currently have on this team.

Remember Jules and  SF QB are 7th RD-ers.

One thing I will say is that they have tried to address the WR issue that’s been an issue for years. They’ve spent first and second round draft picks on it multiple times, they’ve looked a FA for options as well.

they just have not hit. Nothing is hitting for us at Wr.

That said, they could do better. Low balling DHop is just one example. Thornton had ref flags too.
