Great player, just can’t stay healthy. Hope it’s nothing serious.

He is washed. Saying from a team with dead cap for cutting him. Look at his production since his contract extension.  78m gtd at signing 4 years ago: 27 sacks of production and he’s now been paid 102m for a little under 4m/sack. Awful deal. Chargers can absorb 22m this season in dead cap to save 14m against the cap. In his 8 year career he played 16 games 3 times… only played in 92 games. Available for approximately 70% of games. Probably one of the worst extensions the Chargers have ever done. At least up there with the Marcus McNeil and Shane Olivea extensions.

It’s unfortunate given that it was a no brainer at the time. You pay for elite pass rushers. Unfortunately he never stayed healthy. He’s the anti Melvin Ingram.

I mean to

be fair to was seen miles away. I get it though. We paid the piper the same way. Just unfortunate that injuries take a toll.

So I was on the Joey Bosa hype train… what if I told you he never finished a season higher than 7th in sacks? He was a fringe top ten pass rusher and never elite when you look back at his production. I got sold too. Derwin James is another one that  I’m not sure why I thought he was so great. Good yes but not great.

The craziest part of all this is that Joey Bosa has been playing for eight years...

Joey and Nick are very similar players, Nick seems a little more athletic, and you would assume they are made of the same stuff, but very different injury profiles. Aside from Nick's acl he has been a durable player, where Joey gets singed or worse knjruies evey year.

It would interesting to know what separates durable players from.injury prone ones.

Honestly I thought Joey was in tears when they told him Brandon Staley was still coaching the team.

Seriously, I hope he's OK, but sadly given Bosa's history, they should assume the worst.   If worse D plays gets Staley fired sooner, it's a case of losing the battle to win the war.

Nick's ACL was also from the turf at metlife - not liked a the time. Other than that, very durable

injury prove vs durable is interesting.  Probably a thread of it's own that would go on forever.
