He averaged 200 yards per game (20th) / 6.9 YPA (21st)

They were super limited with their play calling because they had to dink and dunk.

He ranked 25th in intended air yards per attempt and 29th in completed air yards per attempt. He was literally a check down merchant last year.

2013

3357 yds(16 games)

243 ypg

27TDs

8 INTs

Game winning drives: 4

2023

3070 yds(15 games)

227 ypg

26TDs

8 INTs

Game winning drives: 4

He was:

20th in passing yards slightly ahead of Aidan O'Connell

21st in yards per attempt, tied with Justin Fields

25th in intended air yards per attempt sandwiched in between Zach Wilson and Kenny Pickett

29th in completed air yards per completion just below Bryce Young, Sam Howell, Kenny Pickett, and Zach Wilson

Again, passing TD's are the only metric that you can point too, he was absolutely awful as a passer last season and ranked near the bottom in most metrics.

The Broncos averaged 1.5 more ppg than us and less ppg than the Bears despite his 26 passing TD which were a product of Payton's scheme.

Russ can still play at such a high level that the Broncos were willing to eat $85M in dead cap to move on.

Literally willing to pay for him to play for a rival.

not box scouting to say that Russell Wilson scored more twice the amount of touchdowns what did Aiden O'Connell and therefore would've helped us. It was also obviously better than all of the other quarterbacks that he was compared to previously. The only way this would be ignored as if you're trying to make a point for why he wouldn't help at all.

I mean they were obviously political reasons for that but we're trying to make a point for why he could not have helped us, it makes sense to point to the team that's worse than us and just got a new coach last off-season getting rid of a quarterback that's old and getting paid astronomically high who refuses to waive his injury guarantees

Winston was on pace for 34 TD in the same scheme a couple of years ago. Why not sign him?

They were obviously because he sucked on the field first and foremost. In almost no situation or scenario does it make sense to eat an NFL record $85M in dead cap space to move on from a player you’re arguing is good and can still play QB at a high level lol

how about completion percentage

Russell 66%

oconnell 62%

wilson 57%

fields 58%

pickett 62%

thats an interesting thought about them scoring 1.5 more points per game than us seeing as he was able to do that with inferior weapons than ours.

You give sean payton alot of credit although he was 19th in the league in scoring his one full year without brees lol.

In the two games where Russell was binged the Broncos scored 16 points and 14 points in the final two games. Must be a full proof good scheme that any qb can produce in....

No. It can be looked at with rationality towards arbitrary box score stats. You keep saying he had more touchdowns and blah blah blah, but you haven’t shown any film or actual diagnosis on why he would be such a great grab on the QB market. Give me the tape. Not just highlight reels but show me why a team is willing to pay 85 million dollars to watch him possibly play for a rival and face them twice a year, especially one that we already own.

I'm surprised his completion percentage wasn't higher considering he was the definition of a check down merchant.

Inferior weapons, better QB play, and significantly better coaching yet still mediocre.

He was 19th in scoring and had to start Ian Book (1 game), Trevor Seimen (4 games), and Taysom Hill (5 games) at QB. They were averaging 305 ypg / 25 ppg over the first 7 weeks when Winston was healthy.

They tanked the last two weeks for draft position.
