The Broncos are strongly considering to sit Russell Wilson for the final 2 games

wonder how many more years he has left.

If they put him in the same system he had in Seattle, awhile. But Russ is a QB who has clear flaws and clear strengths and it's exploitable unless you build a team for him rather than trying to just build the best team

Sucks for Broncos fans stuck with him again next year and he’s only going to get worse.

He’s a goner.   The cap hit isn’t great but it’s been done 7x with greater dead cap and many more if they choose to designate it as a post-June 1 cut.

Reality is next year is a rebuild.    2025 we’ll be fine cap wise.  Personally as 2024 is a rebuild year I’d just eat the entire hit.    But Wilson played his last game as a Bronco (barring Stidham injury - unless they take no chances and inactivate him).

Here’s the problem - no top 10 OC will want him because of those limitations.    Payton’s done an amazing job of neutering Russ - but he’s still the same guy who was lost with Hackett (bottom 3 OC if not the worst, never mind HC).

So I don’t see it ending well here.   I do feel for the guy - he’s not a bad dude, just weird / corny as ****.   But he also doesn’t look like he’s ready to call it quits.   This usually gets worse as the options become more limited (self-fulfilling prophecy - only bad teams consider him because good teams have better options).

Your thoughts - does Seattle bring him back to compete for the starting job with Geno Smith? It's pretty apparent that Wilson and Carroll spoke the same language, and the pixie dust that Geno had is starting to wear off...

God no.   They could see the drop off coming.

So, is Russ that bad or is Payton just unable to work with anyone other than Brees? I'm curious to see where we are a year from now and if he keeps throwing his players under the bus.

You’ve got it all wrong.   Payton is the only reason Wilson looked serviceable.

Read the “Do ppl owe Russell Wilson an apology” thread linked earlier (in Main Forum).

If anything, ppl owe Sean Payton an apology.
