Because I really struggle to see that even with a top 10-12 defense. Not impossible, of course, I just don't see it. But i may be letting the ineptitude of the offense cloud my judgment lol. There are plenty of terrible offenses in the league where it becomes possible. I mean our defense kept us in the game last week and we had a shot at winning it in the 4th quarter. Our division is bad, REALLY bad. Cards are a bottom tier team, the Seahawks are average and the Rams very well may be bottom tier themselves. You could get two or three wins just in the division. Then you have the Colts/Jags/Texans/Bears/Giants as well. So yeah, I do think five wins is attainable. I predicted 6-7 before the season with us losing the first two games so nothing has changed there. It's not that I think we are a solid or even mediocre team, but our schedule is filled with whole bunch of garbage teams.
48 1/2ers
Name your top draft eligible WR's for next year. In no order I got: Deontay Burnette - USC James Washington - Oklahoma State Deebo Samuel - the other USC Darren Carrington - Utah Calvin Ridley - Alabama Simmie Cobbs Jr. - Indiana
AustrianNiner
Absolutely no expert on eligible WRs but Courtland Sutton needs to be in there(based on what I've seen from him last season).

Agreed and Deon Cain needs a mention. Callaway from Florida is also someone who has a chance to be a good pro.

True I've never seen him play before, so I've just seen a few other people mention his name.

I'd probably add Sutton from SMU, St. Brown from ND, Cain from Clemson, Wilson from Boise, Phillips from VT, Miller from Memphis and Pettis from Washington. I think Tate from FSU has all the potential in the world but for whatever reason he's not used much. I'm not big on Callaway or Carrington for all the off field baggage they come with and the type of people they've been off the field. The guy I've really grown to like over this short season so far is Colin Johnson from Texas. Only a sophmore but this kid might be special. Ive always loved the competitiveness and skill that Kirk of TA&M has but is another smaller WR. His game reminds me a little of a mix between OBJ and Golden Tate. 48 1/2ers
I think a guy with real potential as a #1 guy is my main request out of a receiver. Some dudes are just better suited in smaller roles like Taylor. I guess you never really know like with Antonio Brown or Jordy Nelson but sometimes you can tell right away
GW21
Yeah I remember hearing Callaway had a couple of off-field issues, but I just looked it up. He is not getting drafted. Too bad, he seemed to have a promising start at Florida on the field.

I'll keep my eye out for the others. I have seen USC play about one half of a game and didn't particularly noticce Samuel, but a half is not very much to get a feel for a guy. I want a guy that is great no matter his size, but I'd sure love a big, great receiver.

There are going to be some quality receivers available. Some of the bigger guys in name are actually smaller in stature, so Shanny is sure to love them lol. Absolutely would love a guy that could play G for a year or two and then move over to OT. In fact that would be ideal given our immediate need for inside help and our future need for a Staley replacement. On another note, you're really good with your QB comparisons - who do you think Allen compares to?

On another note, you're really good with your QB comparisons - who do you think Allen compares to? On 100% best case scenario? Big Ben has been my comp for him. I see a lot of people say Flacco, and that's not awful, but Allen is a lot more mobile, does a damage throwing on the run, will break through sacks and plays a grittier style to me. Reminds me of Ben. On the downside, there isn't a perfect match type of comp...lots of guys with similarities, but nobody that jumps out at me as to who I think of when I watch Allen play. Josh Freeman maybe? He has that kind of floor, but not that kind of flame out likelihood (Freeman's flame out was hastened considerably by stuff other than on the field play, I think). Maybe to be a little kinder, Jake Locker? If Locker hadn't retired, I think he's probably still in the league (not as a starter, obviously). Same inconsistent accuracy, though Allen pushes the ball downfield more and Locker was far more athletic. But both had strong arms, capable of making some big boy throws, questionable decision making and an over reliance on physical gifts, same gunslinger mentality and seem more comfortable in chaos at times..so it's not really ideal, just trying to find a comparable floor. I've seen some people mention Hack, but that largely seems to be the accuracy issues, which I don't think is specifically applicable because they play two distinctly different styles. Paxton Lynch is another one, but honestly, i don't see anything similar there outside of their size and being pretty athletic for a 6'5 dude. Paxton never so much as looked at more than half the field, very limited progression run throughs, etc.

I thought that was going to be something that made him a lock for the first round. He makes a lot of NFL caliber throws with regards to deep outs and the like. Bryce Petty is a bit harsh. I mean, I'm not a major Rudolph fan, but I had an undraftable grade on Petty lol. I'm not that hard on Rudolph lol My problem with Rudolph is "Who has he played?" I cannot recall a single noteworthy win against a top 10 or even 15 team...and yes, that O is VERY QB friendly. Even the Sooners offense is more Pro-style than Okla St. Sure, Rudolph has the stature, but has not proven much else.
big9erfan
I saw that miracle comeback Rosen led. But one of those passes should have been intercepted. Another was a pure miracle. Then this past week he made a really bad decision to just heave one up late and had it intercepted. Did he learn from that? Nope. He did the exact same thing next time and that one would have been intercepted too if his wr had not been smart enough to tackle the db before he could catch the ball. So I'm still torn about him. I had Arnold first before the year started and think he's still first for me.
