We haven't officially met with Nelson or brought him in for a visit? What If Lynch is preparing to trade up with Denver to get Nelson?

Would not mind a trade up to get Nelson at all. He is my 1st round draft crush. However, I do realize there is very little chance he drops to 9. I would still be very happy with James/Landry/Smith/Edmunds if we were to pick any of them.

@49erurtaza Nice to see Hercules in your draft...I really cannot see him lasting until the 7th round, though. One of my fave pass rushers and I think he could make the transition to LB just fine. His first step is mindblowingly fast. No one else is off the ball as quick as he is.

That's... crazy... isn't it? Heck, I have Oko going #59 to us right now. Maybe I am... the crazy???

No, you're not crazy. I have to laugh at some of the results of these apparently 'Mock-able' Drafts. And he goes by "Obo".

No one except Sooner fans seem to get Sooner player nicknames correct. People still call Peterson 'AP' when his nickname has always been "AD" for "All Day".

Obo. Got it. My deepest apologies for the error, and the pain it caused you. :P

I've been wondering who we could get somewhere between 2 and 4 round as an edge guy. I'd be OK with Obo with one of our 3rd rounders. Not sure if there's going to be one there for our second pick that I like well enough to use that high of a pick on.

I loved Oboronkwo (see what I did there :P) on film, but his combine really made me question what I saw. Maybe he's just game fast, and wasn't one of those guys who trained for track. But I was surprised to see him in the 4.7s (I think his first unofficial 40 was even in the 4.8s, wasn't it?). So maybe that scared me off too much. But I loved him in game, loved his hand usage, he has long arms and a good punch. Great in pursuit, looks to read the play well and good instincts. I think he might go after some of the more athletic guys, but I actually like him more than most of those. I like him more than Josh Sweat, for instance.

^ THIS is the guy I have recently been perking up to. His stat and TFL numbers were down from Soph to Jr years... but he can really bring a pass rush when unleashed. He was asked to be more of a run defender in 2017, and responded with much less pass rush prowess BUT was listed 3rd best in run D for this class.

So... his 4.8 speed scares me not a bit, as I watch his game.  Long arms, full effort.

I'd bet if he goes to SF as the LEO (seeing lots of single blockers), and can be unleashed again? He could be all that we could dream for.

Agreed @oldman9er. He's one of the edge guys I really want in this draft. I've accepted Arden Key isn't going to be a possibility due to Reuben Foster but Armstrong is on the short list of edge guys I approve of. Harold Landry is still the guy I want the most, but it would be better if we could trade down a bit and pick him up.

Yeah, there was a big change in the defensive philosophy there this year and in particular his role in the defense. I know that @y2lamanaki is not a fan in the least, but I think he's an intriguing option in the 3/4th rounds if you swing and miss for an edge rusher the first two
