jleisher
Happy New Years to all! Again, for this mock draft, I used Fanspeak.com GM simulator. Using Steve Shoup's big board updated 1/2/24. The computer was set at random big boards. My cap numbers might be off a little here and there, but you will understand. I hope you enjoy my mock. Let's cheer the Packers on to victory this Sunday. Matt Laflour pulls the trigger on DC Joe Barry. Barry is fired. Laflour replaces him with Mike Zimmer. Laflour makes another surprise change on defense. DB coach Greg Williams is released as well. Lafour replaces him with the future DC Jim Leonhard. This gives Leonhard some time to learn from Zimmer and will replace him when he becomes a HC again. My goal in this mock is to rebuild the RB position, DB position and improve the OL. Special teams still is under performing, IMO Bisaccia hasn't lived up to his hype. Rich Bisaccia is hired away by the LVR as their new HC. Laflour replaces him with former Vikings and Chargers STC, Ryan Ficken. Gutekunst and Russ Ball start to work their magic with the cap and roster. Offseason Trades: Jaire Alexander is traded to the LAC for pick #38. (I know all seems well, however I believe there's something there behind closed doors with Alexander and the Packers.) Frees up $24,364,000 in cap. David Bekhtiari Packers plan on cutting Bek, however a team that wants him without competing for him in the open market calls and offers a trade. Titans call and offer pick #39 and pick number #218. Frees up $23,171,487 in cap. De'Vondre Campbell is traded to Commanders for pick #102. Frees up $14,407,031. Packers send Stokes, Enagbare and Newman along with pick #88, 3rd rd #24 to Arizona for Budda Baker and picks #223 and #224. The cap takes a $12,505,043 hit. 2024 Cap space: $5,638,132 as of this date, per Overthecap.com. Cap is now $55,075,607, after trades. Roster Cuts: Aaron Jones cap saved $11.5m after June 1st. Packers however resign Jones to a 2yrs $5m 70% cap hit is $4m, cap saved $7.5m. Basically, a one-year deal. Josh Myers cap saved $2.5m. Sean Rhyan cap saved $578,000. Samori Toure cap saved $825,000. Luke Tenuta cap saved $705,000. Cap space after cuts: $67,183,607. ($15-$20m league increase.) $82,183,607. FA's: Conner Williams C/G Dolphins 4yrs. $12m 70%, cap hit $8.4m. Drue Tranquill LB Chiefs 3yrs. $6m 70%, cap hit $4.5m. Kevin Zeitler RG Ravens 4yrs. $12m 70%, cap hit $8.4m Cap Space after FA's: $39,583,607. 2024 Draft: #19. Packers select: Amarius Mims LT/RT Georgia 6'7" 340lbs. (#15 on my Packers big board.) PASS BLOCKING: 89% RUN BLOCKING: 76% Plays with appropriate wide base and intelligence, instincts and agility to seal the edge. Aggressive extending with power to punch and looks comfortable in space. Mims also flashes heavy hands and has the ability to knock back pass rushers. He shows a mean streak as a run blocker, doing solid work on the second level. Outstanding on reach blocks, showing good initial quickness and flexibility to seal the backside. He’s a heady player who is quick to recognize and react to twists and stunts up front, and Mims shows a good sense of timing on combo blocks. The physical traits make him a left tackle candidate; he effectively uses his long arms and packs a good amount of power in his initial punch. An agile mover who puts his length to good use, using his hands aggressively and landing solid initial punches. Mims can move to the second level as a run blocker, with the coordination and balance to hit moving targets. He’s at his best fighting in a phone booth as a run blocker, where his sheer size and strength, combined with his natural knee bend and leverage, can take over. #38. Packers select: Cooper DeJean CB/S/RS Iowa 6'1" 207lbs. (#40 on my Packers big board.) QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 46.9 TACKLING: 79% RUN DEFENSE: 87% COVERAGE: 82% ZONE: 78% MAN/PRESS: 80% Good energy and toughness, although he needs to improve his tackling technique for consistent results. Has the violent hands to discard receivers and smaller tight ends, and DeJean is a reliable tackler. In coverage, he shows good instincts when sitting back in zone, with click-and-close ability and good ball tracking. Good agility and balance when shadowing his target. Competitive player. While aggressive in the run game, he needs to become more physical in his tackling. Generally accurate angles to the ballcarrier, but there's room for tightening his angles in pursuit. Has good body control and balance to redirect and break down in the open field. #39. Packers select: Kamren Kinchens S Miami 6'0" 205lbs. QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 109.1 TACKLING: 61% RUN DEFENSE: 74% COVERAGE: 73% ZONE: 72% MAN/PRESS: 72% Reads receivers' routes and anticipates throws at the first down marker. Covers a lot of ground in a hurry when in space. Reads the quarterback's eyes and sees the routes very quickly, then has straight-line speed to arrive with or just after the ball. He’s a willing and capable hitter in run support and closes fast to make plays against quick screens. Flashes some physicality as a hitter. He’s physical at the line of scrimmage, showing unexpected power in his hands. Willing in run support, coming downhill quickly when Kinchens has a chance to make a play. Good strength to tackle. Plays with high energy and is a tough-minded overachiever. Good instincts and anticipation read and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands. #40. Packers trade down with Colts for picks #53 and #85. #51. Packers select: Graham Barton C/G/T Duke 6'5" 314 lbs. (Another Jenkins and Zach type player.) (#16 on my Packers big board.) PASS BLOCKING: 78% RUN BLOCKING: 74% Barton consistently plays beyond the whistle. He has good enough feet to hold his own in pass protection, particularly when factoring in his effort. Fires out of his stance with a good pad level, consistently winning at the point of attack. In the run game, Barton explodes off the line of scrimmage and consistently gets out to the second level to do damage. Hand placement is excellent, and he shows a good understanding of angles when climbing up field. Has the football IQ to handle setting protections at the line of scrimmage, and he displays excellent instincts and awareness after the snap, effectively adjusting to twists and stunts. Barton does a nice job working with teammates to build the pocket, anchoring against bull rushers and displaying good awareness against stunts and twists. #53. Packers select: T'Vondre Sweat NT Texas 6'4" 362 lbs. (With Pierce and Sweat the Packers should be better against the run.) (#21 on my Packers big board.) TACKLING: 76% PASS RUSH: 95% RUN DEFENSE: 100% Plays with leverage at the point of attack whether inside or outside. Keeps eyes in the backfield when inside; moves linemen to either side with strong hands. Despite his relatively tall frame, Sweat typically plays with a low enough pad level and natural power to push the pocket with the bull rush. His hand use is excellent; he’s strong in the upper body and consistently swats away blockers. Has the upper-body strength to rock his opponent back onto his heels. Combines strength and footwork to fill holes inside, as well. Recovers from cut blocks or falling on his way to make a tackle. Penetrates through gaps, often forcing running backs to elude him or the back end of the offensive lineman he's pushing before they even reach the line. #83. Packers select: Zach Frazier C/G W. Virginia 6'3" 310lbs. (#61 on my Packers big board.) PASS BLOCKING: 84% RUN BLOCKING: 81% Adequate foot quickness to remain outside. Can get to the second level with surprising agility when adjusting to moving defenders. Underrated athleticism, agility, balance, and even straight-line speed to contribute. Fires out of his stance with a good pad level, consistently winning at the point of attack. Solid positional run blocker who flashes the nasty demeanor and killer instinct scouts covet. Exhibits good patience in pass protection, sitting back in his set rather than leaning and lunging. He’s a coordinated athlete who can win at the point of attack in the run game, and Frazier can also move to consistently land blocks at the second level. Awareness is above average for his limited experience. Sells trap block and can turn to seal. Fluid getting to and adjust at the second level. #85. Packers select: TreVeyon Henderson RB Ohio St. 5'10" 212 lbs. (#56 on my Packers big board.) RUSHING: 92% BREAK TACKLES: 80% RECEIVING/HANDS: 71% PASS BLOCKING: 66% RUN BLOCKING: 74% He’s patient in the backfield, willing to wait out his blocking and not panicking, and Henderson consistently spots cutback lanes and takes advantage. Flashes initial burst and good lateral quickness to sidestep defenders or bounce runs outside with very good foot quickness. Displays very good feel as an inside and outside runner with above average vision to make sharp cuts - good patience· and footwork to pick through defenses. His passing game skills are strong. He’s a natural hands catcher who turns up field quickly in the screen game, and he shows a great feel for setting up wheel routes. Henderson has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as he does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps. He has very good vision and a knack for picking out cut-back lanes and then breaking off chunks of yardage. While not the most physical runner, he consistently falls forward in a crowd. His low pad level and a bit of wiggle keep him from absorbing big hits. He keeps his pads low and consistently falls forward. Unlike most backs his size, he has the lateral movement and stop-start ability to make defenders whiff. Henderson has breakaway speed in the open field. #102. Packers select: Rod Moore S Michigan 6'0" 198lbs. (#55 on my Packers big board.) QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 56.0 TACKLING: 86% RUN DEFENSE: 85% COVERAGE: 78% ZONE: 67% MAN/PRESS: 80% Moore tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags. Instinctive, adept at reading routes and anticipating throws, and strong in zone coverage. Has good awareness and quick feet. Fluid backpedal, aggressive attacking the receiver from the snap, and flashes spectacular ball skills. Not a major liability in man coverage. Good enough foot speed and length to stay with slot receivers in four-wide sets on short patterns. Does a good job getting his head around in time when playing with his back to the line of scrimmage. Has the ability to cover quickness underneath. Has a nice blend of length, speed, and quickness. He’s at his best mirroring routes underneath, showing fluid movement skills and the ability to change directions on a dime. #119. Packers select: Theo Wease WR Missouri 6'3" 200lbs. (#88 on my Packers big board.) (PS) QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 119.0 HANDS: 86% SHORT RECEIVING: 80% INTERMEDIATE ROUTES: 83% DEEP THREAT: 83% BLOCKING: 58% Balanced, savvy route runner with top field awareness, setting up and selling routes beautifully. Wease also proved to be a force in catch-and-run situations. A violent runner who transitions up field quickly after the catch, Wease has the speed to pick up chunks of yardage once he’s broken the first tackle. Tracks the ball well downfield and shows good ball skills, including the ability to go up and high-point it in contested-catch situations. Fluid athlete with explosive burst and speed to stretch the field and breeze past defenders. Has a quick first step and gets to top speed in a hurry. Very soft, natural hands to cleanly catch away from his frame. Concentration is excellent. Has the lateral agility and strength to get into and out of routes smoothly. A versatile weapon, proving to be effective inside in the slot and outside on the perimeter. Makes plays at all levels of the field. #169. Packers select: Audric Estime RB Notre Dame 5'11" 227lbs. (#74 on my Packers big board.) RUSHING: 92% BREAK TACKLES: 87% RECEIVING/HANDS: 69% PASS BLOCKING: 54% RUN BLOCKING: 61% A quick, smooth athlete with the footwork to make sharp cuts and redirect his momentum in a flash. Shows good vision and patience with natural running instincts. He’s a decisive runner who gets going north-south quickly and typically gets what’s blocked for him. Estime shows decent burst and straight-line speed to turn in big plays. It might take him a year to get out of the habit of bouncing everything outside, but the skill set is there for him to be a workhorse and the centerpiece of a run-based offense. Flashes initial burst and good lateral quickness to sidestep defenders or bounce runs outside with very good foot quickness. Displays very good feel as an inside and outside runner with above average vision to make sharp cuts - good patience· and footwork to pick through defenses. Estime has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as Estime does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps. Balanced runner maintains low pad level and has the power to keep moving after initial contact. #194. Packers select: Jaylan Ford LB Texas 6'3" 242 lbs. (#102 on my Packers big board.) TACKLING: 77% PASS RUSH: 70% RUN DEFENSE: 87% COVERAGE: 64% Ford shows good quickness off the line of scrimmage and flashes the violent hands to win around the edge. He can be used as a rangy run defender inside, instinctive when it comes to locating the ball with the quickness to get to it before blockers can react at the second level. Downhill defender and physical tackler. Uses his eyes to decipher and break down the play, showing good awareness and discipline to sniff out fakes. Shows the closing burst and footwork to work well in tight areas. Ford chases well in pursuit, and Ford has the athleticism to play in space if asked to drop into coverage. A bit stiff but makes the clean open-field tackle. Good effort in pursuit. #216. Packers select: Joe Milton III QB Tenn 6'5" 235 lbs. (#118 on my Packers big board.) RELEASE SPEED: 89% SHORT PASSING: 73% MEDIUM PASSING: 79% LONG PASSING: 67% RUSH/SCRAMBLE: 81% Possesses an exceptional arm strength that rivals the best, enabling him to make throws many can't. Demonstrates quick acceleration through his throwing motion, sending the ball across the field instantaneously. Displays commendable pocket awareness, making controlled movements under pressure, showcasing his football IQ. With his significant size and stature (6'5", 235 lbs.), he exemplifies the prototypical quarterback build. Not just a stationary pocket passer; shows the ability to move off his spot and make accurate throws on the run. While his processing speed may need tuning, his velocity compensates by closing tight windows effectively. His resistance to sloppy tackle attempts due to his size means defenders need to ensure solid hits to impact him. Has a lightning-quick release that, combined with his arm strength, makes him a formidable offensive weapon. #220. Packers select: McCallan Castles TE Tenn 6'5" 252lbs. (PS) QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 118.6 HANDS: 70% SHORT RECEIVING: 78% INTERMEDIATE ROUTES: 81% DEEP THREAT: 76% BLOCKING: 73% He’s at his best facing the line of scrimmage, when he’s able to use his body to box out defenders. And showed the ability to get in and out of cuts and create separation. He’s a coordinated hands catcher and extremely violent after the catch, seeking out contact and lowering his shoulder to deliver hits while carrying the ball. Castles has surprising straight-line speed. Soft hands. Flashes good to very good tracking and overall body control to make catches outside of his frame. Quick feet and good balance to create separation on stick and post routes. Catches well in traffic, shields the ball from defenders with his frame, and holds on despite being hit. Will fully extend, ******, and stay in bounds. #223. Packers select: Ray Davis RB Kentucky 5'10" 216lbs. RUSHING: 90% BREAK TACKLES: 78% RECEIVING/HANDS: 69% PASS BLOCKING: 41% RUN BLOCKING: 69% Davis aggressively finishes runs and consistently falls forward in a crowd. He’s a natural hands catcher who turns up field quickly in the screen game, and he shows a great feel for setting up wheel routes. He’s a natural pass catcher, at his best pulling in swing passes and heading up field. He’s a natural in the screen game as well. His hands are good enough that he can line up in the slot. Possesses quick feet and straight-line speed but doesn't have the elite burst to be a constant big-play threat. Improving patience as a runner, following pulling guards and makes good decisions on his cut. Davis is a natural playmaker, at his best with the ball in his hands. #224. Packers select: Jordan Burch DE/Edge Oregon 6'6" 290lbs. (#117 on my Packers big board.) (PS) TACKLING: 85% PASS RUSH: 69% RUN DEFENSE: 73% Burch shows good quickness off the line of scrimmage and flashes the violent hands to win around the edge. He’s a technically sound and consistent tackler, breaking down and wrapping up, with the length and power to swallow up ball carriers. He has good movement skills with decent range. (PS) TACKLING: 66% PASS RUSH: 81% RUN DEFENSE: 87% Robinson has violent hands and the long arms to ward off blockers. He plays with a good pad level and can win with power as a bull rusher. He’s very good with his hands, a technician with the violence, quickness, and the long arms to ward off blockers. He has a great motor and enough creativity to make plays late in the down as a pass rusher. He’s quick to react and locate the ball, and Robinson shows enough speed to succeed in backside pursuit. He plays with excellent balance and a strong, flexible core, rarely ending up on the ground. He could be molded to fit as a three-technique, five-technique, or edge rusher at the next level. Robinson has the ability to thrive as a versatile pass rusher as well as a run stuffer. Challenges inside with quickness and strong hands. Run-and-chase defender who can leave a mark. hitnhope
Again- Why didn't you pick Marvin Harrison Jr in the 7th round? Most of these players will be picked far earlier than you are projecting. Why bother when it defies any reality.

Just don't get putting that kind of effort into something so ridiculous. Next one have the packers taking Alt, Kool- aid, Dejean, Nabors, Barton, Bowers, Brooks, Benson, Kinchens, and for backup QB Caleb Williams? I just like looking at different mocks as I don't really follow who's the best players in college football. I look mainly at the positions the poster picks for his draft .. the guys he/she takes, usually no clue. Must admit, he does put effort into it .. read, enjoy, ignore .. it's all good. Bleed G&G
Thank you for putting the time into a mock. I always enjoy reading mock drafts and seeing different names. Right now no one really knows where anyone is going so I like to read about different people. With that being said about not knowing players, we do know the cap numbers. If you go to a website like overthecap.com and click on the Packers it will tell you in the far right column what you would save or loss by cutting a player. It's not just about their cap hit this year, it's mostly about the guaranteed money left on their contract that the Packers would owe them when they are cut or traded. Like Jaire is 24 mil again the cap, but has 27 mil left in guaranteed money so it will cost the Packers 3 million to cut or trade him. Aaron Jones would only free up 4.8 million, so resigning him for 5 million you are actually losing money. Cutting Campbell only frees up 2.7 million of his 14.4 million cap hit. Love a mock, but being of by 50 million in free agency will change how you draft. Would love to see more from you, just look at overthecap.com and your numbers will be a lot closer! Thank you,
ThatJerkDave
You guys sure are mean to Leisher. Let him have his fun. Also, someone get him a Madden game, he loves making like 40 roster moves every time!
