textaz03
Let the courtship of Dan Quinn begin https://x.com/rjochoa/status/1744517684341932168?s=46&t=ktd6JTByZwOAf6VhdnN4wg Add Cowboys DC Dan Quinn, #Dolphins OC Frank Smit, and #Rams DC Raheem Morris to the list. What’s everyone’s thoughts on DQ and possibly losing him this time around? for me, I love what DQ has done with this defense. He really turned it around. My biggest disappointment / criticism of him is finding the ability to stop the run. That has been a failure during his tenure as DC. WizardHawk
I really don’t want to see a good thing broken up. While they’ve been pretty pedestrian vs the run, but this D has been able to generate a pass rush and has consistently created turnovers. The latter really trumps everything imo. Rtnldave
Truth is, he's eventually gonna leave so, no point in sweating over it. Man, do I miss the days of longevity.
D82
I'd hate to lose him...but eventually it's going to happen. I think Joe Whitt would make for a good replacement if he does go.
textaz03
Sources: The #Chargers and #Commanders have submitted requests to interview #Cowboys DC Dan Quinn for their vacant head coaching position. @BleacherReport That’s now three requests for Quinn, who also has one from the #Panthers. https://x.com/schultz_report/status/1744552330131882276?s=46&t=ktd6JTByZwOAf6VhdnN4wg
Nextyearfordaboyz
I hope he stays, but I’m not overly worried about the flip side. I think DQ is an excellent coordinator who thrives and gets his energy being knee deep in the defensive details. It’s a different skillset, and I don’t think we’re letting the next great head coach walk out of our door for Washington. McClay leaving terrifies me, though. If he goes to Washington? I’ll be devastated.

Can’t expect him to play 2nd fiddle forever.
MaddHatter
We can only hope he cares about his coaching tree / legacy and has groomed someone who can step in and keep the same system and build off what he’s done. The Decades of flipping schemes and defenses every 4-5 years has grown quite old

I know he runs our personnel side (draft/FA) but our VP of Ops / AGM is Todd Williams
Dallas94Ware
The scheme needs to change. The alignment needs to change. DQ did a lot of great things here. But Parsons is tapering off every year playing at DE. Starts off so dominating then becomes a non factor, erased by tight ends even. Everyone compares him to Taylor. But Taylor didn't play DE. Taylor didn't put his hand in the dirt and take on men 120 pounds heavier and 6 inches taller every down. Micah needs to be wider with a big man helping take up space and free him. You think Tj Watt or Nick Bosa would shine how they do in Micah's role? Maybe half a season like Micah does. That's about it. To maximize the defenses best player. They need to make a change with how this front is run. Call it a 34. Call it a 43 odd or even or whatever else you want. But the team needs some.bulk on the edge to free Micah and Williams screaming in from the edge. Then maybe he won't go 5 games in a row being gifted a half sack or two at best once the season has worn on. And with guys like Gallimore, Odighizuwa, even Mazi at the nose, the team has the ability to do it. So they should. Quinn wants to go, it's fine by me. If he stays, there needs to be some changes to go with that. A complete.overhaul then, maybe not. But some changes have to happen for the long-term effect of Micah, and the success of the D vs the run
plan9misfit
If he stays, fine. But we need to get bigger at LB and DT. A group of undersized players won’t work.
HDsportsfan
I voted to keep him before the game. Now, not so much. I'm just so ready for massive changes. Even if it's a clean house, make trades, get picks, a couple of sub par seasons and rebuild this thing from the top and bottom. I say the above while asking this question. Is it a curse to be old enough and remember the teams of late 70, early 80, and of course the 90's. Or is it worse never to experience the consistent success I just mentioned. I can't remember, but didn't we make the playoffs for something 15 years straight from the 70' to early 80's. I'm just tired of the same BS on this F'ing merry go 'round. Dallas won its last Super Bowl 12 days after my 6th birthday. I don't remember it at all. I vaguely remember the end of Dallas's glory days from earlier that decade with Aikman, Smith & Irvin's ending years for the Cowboys. I wish I could remember what it felt like to see the team you support reach the Super Bowl, let alone win it. This is the 24th year I've really paid attention to the team and it'd be worth basing it on something more than wins and glory days I could fall back on and recall. textaz03
The #Cowboys expect Dan Quinn to return as Mike McCarthy’s defensive coordinator should he not be hired as a head coach elsewhere. Quinn has completed two of his five scheduled interviews for head-coaching vacancies. https://x.com/werderedespn/status/1747984172709195850?s=46&t=ktd6JTByZwOAf6VhdnN4wg nothing like a kick in balls! Zero accountability what so ever if this holds true
WizardHawk
Running it back feels like madness. I don't love it, don't hate it....guess that's a sign apathy has taken hold completely.
