rlon
This will be a good year for a team needing a RT, OC, ILB, CB and S. ILB has good mid round options, the other positions might be skewed higher. DT seems decent… Not so much when it comes to QB and edge….just my opinion, not a great draft for those two important positions. What do you guys see as likely strengths and weaknesses of this draft?

Which draft are you looking at? 😁. Another way of putting that is the talent is so poor for IBL that there are no 1st round picks there and possibly no 2nd round picks there. I think FA is the way to go unless they are looking at some smaller school LBs/safeties

I am trying to enjoy the play-offs. Hopefully the Steelers continue to surprise, even for one more week. Free Agency, I would look at the following: Center - Tyler Biadasz. I liked him coming out of college. Experienced, solid, and a guy who can man the position until a franchise Center is developed. ILB - Shaq Leonard or Isiah Simmons. Obviously, I would prefer Leonard. He would be pretty stout. Again, I would also look to draft someone. RT - I would look to draft someone. I am curious who may be released this off season. No one jumps out, but I see Chuks being released and they could use a veteran presence as well. CB - Jaylon Johnson or L' Jarius Sneed. Obviously, I love Johnson. Not sure what happens with the Bears. They seem to want him, but not sure what level. He would be my #1 target. If not, Snead is a solid player as well that would be much better than Levi Wallace. SS - Kyle Dugger or Terrell Edmunds. I loved Dugger coming out of college. He may be a bit expensive, but if you can't get a good CB, he might be the perfect mate to put next to Minkah. I wanted Edmunds upgraded, but realistically, he may be a solid piece and not too $$$. This defense has a lot of $$$ invested already. While Edmunds is not spectacular in any sense, he knows the defense and is one of those solid players who won't break the bank. DT seems decent… I still would like a true NG to be added. Cam is getting older and Ogunjobi did not have as strong consistent a season as in the past. They need a solid vet and a good draft choice. Not so much when it comes to QB and edge….just my opinion, not a great draft for those two important positions. What do you guys see as likely strengths and weaknesses of this draft? I have not researched the draft and all free agents to give a total or comprehensive assessment. This is a quick snapshot of what I have been thinking about. As far as QB, I think they sign a veteran. Obviously, Mitch will be cut probably June 1. I think they sign Mitch to be #2. I would look to sign another veteran. Year three will be a critical year for Pickett. It will be his year to audition for his future in Pittsburgh. I would like Jamis, Gardner or Sam Darnold. jebrick
After what he pulled, I would not touch Jamis Winston. Tomlin may like him but I think he is a waste.

I definitely missed something. What did Jameis do?

I heard the players say that they agreed to do this among themselves to try to get the RB a TD. I get Jameis was the QB, but that was trying to a good teammate at the Falcons expense I guess. Bill Bellichick used to do this all the time. It was garbage time, had no effect on the game's outcome and certainly wasn't being done to rub it in the Falcons noses. I'm meh. But then again, have survived one sided beat downs from Philly, Buffalo and others over the past few years. As they say, if you don't like it, stop it! Nah, they did it out of victory formation, which players take it easy, so it was bush league to do.

That is different. I have to go back and actually look. Even if that was the case, it could have been done differently then. Certainly a heads up to the opponent or coaches. Thanks for clarifying. I think FA is the way to go unless they are looking at some smaller school LBs/safeties I guess what I am trying to say is that any ILB taken in the first two rounds can have a nearly as talented prospect taken in the fourth, and I don’t want the Steelers to reach when the difference isn’t much….let other teams get into overvaluing this position in this draft. Stick with the trenches high and also strengthen the secondary. If you are going to deviate from these strong needs, make it a plus receiver.
