Off-Season 2024-"Peters" built

I’m happy about a few of these signings and others I think are okay but with that said, we literally do not have a LT on the roster. Wylie is awful at RT. They have got to do something. The only thing I can think of is they plan to move back up into the first round to get one of these tackles.

The LT’s besides Alt and Fashanu, for me I dont think it’s worth going back in the 1st rd to select a LT after these 2 guys.
RT for me Fuaga and Latham are the only ones I like. Do you go back in to the 1st for a RT?
Fautanu is listed and projected as a G. I saw Barton on some sites is listed as a C.
What’s the cost to go back in to the 1st and for who?

We are obviously going to over spend on aging, oft injured Tyron Smith.  I have reached my tolerance of signing cowboys.

I would trade up for Fuaga if we could get him.

I like Kingsley at LT in the 2nd.

If I remember correctly when we traded up to 26 from the colts to select sweat it was two 2nds

He fell because of a bad medical report. That late in the draft you might get lucky the T’s that are left, get to the early part of the 2nd. Are you reaching at that point? Too early 2nds are very valuable. Depends on their evaluations of these Tackles.

Could be a spot for Amarius Mims for LT

Also i wouldn’t do both 2nds for this year. For me if that was the type of trade imo it would involve a 2nd next year. If we can get Tyrone Smith or a good vet on a short term deal I think I’m good at staying how we are and not trading into the first

This is a weird one, because everyone who watched him assumed that he lacked length and would have to move to guard. He has a hard time getting his hands on people and landing his punch, and he sort of just steers them around the pocket with his hands and (especially) his body — which are telltale signs of insufficient arm length. Plus, he’s very short for an OT, which also played into the notion that he’s a short-armed brawler meant for an IOL spot.

And then he shows up to the combine and actually has above-average length arms (34.5”). So what now?

I’m not sure. I’m not a big fan of his, honestly. I think he’s a good athlete and a tough guy. But I would have expected more polish out of a guy from a good program who is going to be a 24-year-old rookie. I really just don’t know what to make of him.

So am I the only one that doesn’t think the bears are taking Caleb at 1?

why would you bring eberflus back if you plan on drafting a new QB? Plus there is no market at all for Fields. Until he’s traded I think they take Harrison at 1.

I also think they will ask for too much for the #1

I fully expect Williams there at 2 if there is no trade by Chicago

Some notable names that I think we could get for the right price at positions of need.

WR

Marquise Brown 26 (ties to Kingsburry)

Mike Williams 29 (ties to Lynn)

OT

Tyrone Smith 33(ties to Quinn)

Trent Brown 30

DJ Humphries 30 (ties to Kingsburry coming off injury)

CB

Stephone Gilmore 33 (ties to quinn)

Kendall Fuller 29 (I think he just wants to be in Washington)

Jordan Lewis 28 (ties to Quinn)

Xavier Howard 30

There’s probably a couple others somewhere out there who think that.

I think their GM would have a lot of explaining to do if he sees the entire league express total disinterest in Fields and interprets that as a sign to keep Fields and pass on Williams.

This is one that makes a lot of sense to me.

Big-bodied X receiver who could free Terry up to play more at the Z. Deep ball specialist, which would play well with either Maye or Daniels. Top 10 over the last 5 seasons in yards/target. Price probably reasonable due to the recent injury.

LAC inexplicably put a muzzle on their passing game over the last couple seasons, turning Herbert into a short-passing guy and putting a bit of a leash on Williams as well. But if he’s healthy, I think he’s a nice fit alongside McLaurin and Dotson (and McConkey).

Plus, it would be a nice full circle moment for me. When I first joined here almost 20 years ago, my heart’s desire was a big receiver named Mike Williams. Would be nice to make that come true finally.

I agree, would finally give us a WR with size. I think he could be had for a reasonable deal.
