jleisher
Wow, what great victory! So far Love looks like the real deal, but it's only one season. Let's get started. I used Fanspeak.com GM simulator for the offseason signings and cuts. NFLdraftbuzz.com was used for scouting reports. My numbers might not be perfect, but you'll get my idea. Here we go, enjoy and think what if. Brian Gutekunst has done a wonderful job. Sure, some have questioned his moves, but we see now that he did us proud. After a loss to the 49ers, he starts on the 2024 season. (I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see lightning striking twice.) Gute and LaFleur start their offseason evaluations on the coaching staff and players. True, the defense has started playing better, however, they still pull the trigger on Barry. Mike Zimmer is brought in as DC/Asst HC. After the Packers hire Zimmer, Greg Williams moves on. Better offer or upset about being passed over for the DC position. Lafleur and Zimmer agree on his replacement. Yeap! Jim Leonhard is hired as Asst. DC/Pass game coordinator. All other coaches are safe. Trades: Yeah, Gute makes 3 trades to free up cap space. Cap space is $7,984,745 per Spotrac.com 1/16/24. De'Vondre Campbell ILB to Bills for 2025 4th rd pick. Cap saved $14,407,000. Eric Stokes CB to Falcons for pick #144 in the 5th rd. Cap saved $2,686,989. David Bakhtiari LT and 2025 3rd rd pick to Arizona for Budda Baker SS and 2025 4th rd pick. Cap saved $6,750,000. (Arizona was afraid they would be out bid for Bakhtiari, so they make a deal with the Packers and reach a new contract agreement with Bakhitari.) 2024 Cap space: $31,828,734. Packer releases: Aaron Jones RB (Post Jun 1st.) cap saved $11,500,000. Sean Rhyan G cap saved $578,917. Royce Newman G cap saved $605,611. Samori Toure WR cap saved $825,000. Luke Tenuta T cap saved $705,000. Anthony Johnson Jr. CB cap saved $825,000. 2024 Cap space: $46,868,262 + $20,000,000 NFL cap increase. $66,868,262. Packer resigns: Keisean Nixon DB/RS 3yrs. $5m 70% cap hit $3,750,000. AJ Dillon RB 3yrs. $6m 70% cap hit $4,500,000. Darnell Savage FS 2yrs. $10m 70% cap hit $8,000,000. Outside FA's: Graham Glasow C/RG 3yrs. $8m 80% cap hit $6,000,000. (75.1 PFF) David Edwards LT/LG/RG/RT 3yrs. $8m 80% cap hit $6,000,000. Bobby Wagner ILB 2yrs. $9m 70% cap hit $ 7,200,000. Jaylon Johnson CB 5yrs. $18m 80% cap hit $10,800,000. 2024 Cap space: $$20,618,262. 2024 NFL Draft: #25. Packers select: Taliese Fuaga RT/RG Oregon St. 6'6" 334lbs. PASS BLOCKING: 80% RUN BLOCKING: 93% Run game dominance: His ability to control the line of scrimmage in the run game is exceptional, leveraging his size and strength to overpower defenders. Strong, NFL-ready frame: Fuaga's physical stature is ideal for professional play, providing a robust and durable foundation for his blocking abilities. Heavy hands: His impactful handwork stuns defenders, effectively disrupting their momentum and control during engagements. Potential for positional versatility: Demonstrates the capability to adapt to various roles on the offensive line, adding valuable flexibility to any NFL team. Elite explosiveness and range: He exhibits rare agility and quickness for his size, particularly noticeable in his movement to the second level. Aggressive playstyle: Known for his proactive and dominant approach, consistently seeking to overpower opponents at the line of scrimmage. Effective leverage and pad level: Maintains superior leverage due to excellent knee bend, a critical skill for offensive linemen. Skilled in recovery and redirection: Shows remarkable hip flexibility and ability to adjust quickly, essential for countering dynamic defensive strategies. #41. Packers select: Kamren Kinchens S Miami 6'0" 205lbs. QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 110.7 TACKLING: 60% RUN DEFENSE: 73% COVERAGE: 76% ZONE: 75% MAN/PRESS: 73% Reads receivers' routes and anticipates throws at the first down marker. Covers a lot of ground in a hurry when in space. Reads the quarterback's eyes and sees the routes very quickly, then has straight-line speed to arrive with or just after the ball. He’s a willing and capable hitter in run support and closes fast to make plays against quick screens. Flashes some physicality as a hitter. He’s physical at the line of scrimmage, showing unexpected power in his hands. Willing in run support, coming downhill quickly when Kinchens has a chance to make a play. Good strength to tackle. Plays with high energy and is a tough-minded overachiever. Good instincts and anticipation read and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands. #58. Packers select: Kris Jenkins DE Michigan 6'3" 305lbs. TACKLING: 70% PASS RUSH: 72% RUN DEFENSE: 86% Jenkins is tough against the run, hard to push around due to his solid stance and strength. He’s got a strong punch at the line, can really hold his own and push back against big O-linemen. Good at reading and reacting to blockers' moves, doesn't get fooled easily and holds his ground. Shows a slick swim move to break free from blocks, especially effective when he's cutting across the line. Even when he's got linemen on him, he can still make the tackle - shows his grit and muscle. He made the 2023 list of Bruce Feldman Freaks at #6 - he said: "Jenkins recently did a Turkish get-up with a 170-pound dumbbell — the heaviest Herbert has ever witnessed. Jenkins does pull-ups with a 100-pound weight strapped to his waist. He also moves incredibly well for being a 300-plus pounder, running a 7.16 3-cone, a 4.33 shuttle, broad-jumping 9-8 and vertical-jumping 34 inches. Jenkins’ shuttle and 3-cone times are both almost two-tenths of a second faster than the quickest interior defensive lineman did at this year’s NFL combine. His broad jump would be tied for the best. His vertical jump would be second-best, and only Smith topped his number on the bench press." He’s got the hand strength and technique to control his matchups, giving him an edge in the trenches. Great at holding his spot in gap-control plays, reads the action well and can move side-to-side to stop the run. #88. Packers select: Jonathan Brooks RB Texas 6'0" 207lbs. RUSHING: 97% BREAK TACKLES: 91% RECEIVING/HANDS: 79% PASS BLOCKING: 79% RUN BLOCKING: 68% He’s a quality receiver with soft hands, and Brooks shows a good feel for catching and transitioning up field in the screen game. Brooks has the flexible ankles to turn the corner and get around the perimeter when the opportunity presents itself. He’s at his best working in space, showing the quickness and vision of a return specialist. His stop-start ability allows him to create initial separation. Possesses quick feet and straight-line speed but doesn't have the elite burst to be a constant big-play threat. Improving patience as a runner, following pulling guards and makes good decisions on his cut. A smooth, loose athlete with very good speed, he is a weapon in space. Doesn't possess elite breakaway speed but is fast enough to gain yardage in chunks when he finds a seam. #92. Packers select: Roman Wilson WR Michigan 6'0" 192lbs. QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 139.5 HANDS: 84% SHORT RECEIVING: 82% INTERMEDIATE ROUTES: 89% DEEP THREAT: 89% BLOCKING: 49% Elite athletic skills -- Made Bruce Feldman's 'Freaks List' at number 73. He wrote: "...clocked a 4.37 40, the 6-0, 193-pound senior wows the coaches with his ability to accelerate, decelerate and control his body. This offseason, Wilson clocked a 4.33 40 out of a two-point stance; ran a sizzling 6.20 3-cone drill that was only upstaged by teammate Amorion Walker. But then again, Wilson topped everyone with a 3.77 shuttle time, and also had a terrific 10.76 60-yard shuttle and flew up the Wolverines’ reactive plyo stairs in 2.22 seconds. His long arms allow him to play bigger than his size, and Wilson has a frame that can carry a little more weight. Tracks the ball well downfield and shows good ball skills, including the ability to go up and high-point it in contested-catch situations. Wilson has strong hands and is extremely competitive, and he has an innate sense of timing when it comes to elevating and high-pointing balls. Has rare suddenness with lightning footwork to create in tight areas with elusive shiftiness and change-of direction skills. Keeps his feet active and eyes up to dodge traffic quickly and easily. Has excellent straight-line speed to be a breakaway threat at any level. Will initiate contact and runs through high tackle attempts but isn't overall a powerful player. He accelerates quickly and possesses good straight-line speed. Wilson shows solid ball-tracking skills and body control downfield, able to adjust to the off-target throw. #126. Packers select: Tommy Eichenberg ILB Ohio St. 6'2" 239lbs. TACKLING: 87% PASS RUSH: 75% RUN DEFENSE: 82% COVERAGE: 69% Eichenberg can be used as a rangy run defender inside, instinctive when it comes to locating the ball with the quickness to get to it before blockers can react at the second level. He’s rangy and instinctive when he’s looking into the backfield as a zone defender. Has a filled-out frame with good thickness. Plays at full speed at all times with an active motor and determined quickness in pursuit. He has good quickness and an excellent understanding of angles, often beating blockers to the spot. He chases well in pursuit, and Eichenberg has the athleticism to play in space if asked to drop into coverage. Has the combination of size and athleticism worthy of development. Eichenberg has the fluid movement skills and speed to turn and run in coverage against tight ends. #144. Packers select: Khyree Jackson CB Oregon 6'3" 195lbs. QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 44.2 TACKLING: 88% RUN DEFENSE: 85% COVERAGE: 80% ZONE: 76% MAN/PRESS: 78% Physical, sheds defenders and works off blocks. Good toughness with recognition skills to fight through traffic and blow-up screens. Has the length and speed to emerge as a starter two or three years down the line. His length and leaping ability allow him to high point the ball and make plays. Jackson would have had bigger interception numbers in college had opposing quarterbacks not gone out of their way to avoid him. In the run game, he’s aggressive coming downhill and a sure tackler. Flashes good ball skills. He has the fluidity and change-of-direction ability to mirror quicker receivers underneath. He can flip his hips and run, with good top-end speed and the length to make plays on the ball. His ball skills are very good. Jackson tracks the ball well downfield and has the hands and coordination to come away with interceptions even when Jackson isn’t targeted often. #166. Packers select: Jasheen Davis Edge Wake Forest 6'3" 259lbs. TACKLING: 63% PASS RUSH: 83% RUN DEFENSE: 76% Davis has decent enough flexibility to bend the edge, and Davis shows a good closing burst. Has a solidly built frame with good upper body strength and tenacity. Works hard to get to the ball. Plays fast with good initial quickness and closing speed to create havoc in the backfield. Tremendous explosion; accelerates low with power. Relentless blindside pursuit; tracks down ballcarriers across the field. He has the strong core and powerful hands to shed blockers, and he shows excellent instincts with the ability to quickly locate the ball. He is a high-motor pass rusher who shows a good feel for countering, and he has the functional strength to bounce off tackles and close on the quarterback with second effort. Davis explodes off the line with a quick first step, with agile feet to counter inside and closing burst to finish plays. #203. Packers select: Brandon Coleman OL TCU 6'6" 320lbs. PASS BLOCKING: 71% RUN BLOCKING: 71% Elite athletic skills -- Made Bruce Feldman's 'Freaks List' at number 61. He wrote: "Coleman, unrated by the recruiting sites coming out of high school, has an impressive 35-inch vertical jump and regularly runs 18 MPH. He squats 600 pounds, benches 400 and power-cleans 375" Quick feet to get inside of defensive tackles to wall off inside and reach linebackers at the second level. Has a naturally wide base, thickly build and good length. Long legs to cover a lot of ground with his initial kick slide. Has the quickness to set up quickly with enough lateral shuffle to mirror and mobility to get to the second level. In pass protection, Coleman flashes a strong initial punch and typically has good hand placement. Best on the outside because of his height and athleticism but is capable of blocking on the move. He’ll consistently finish blocks, dropping on defenders when he has them on the ground. Coleman shows good awareness reacting to twists and stunts as a pass protector, and he has the strength to anchor against bigger defensive linemen. Plays with appropriate wide base and intelligence, instincts and agility to seal the edge. Aggressive extending with power to punch and looks comfortable in space. #215. Packers select: Joe Milton III QB Tennessee 6'5" 235lbs. RELEASE SPEED: 90% SHORT PASSING: 73% MEDIUM PASSING: 80% LONG PASSING: 67% RUSH/SCRAMBLE: 82% Possesses an exceptional arm strength that rivals the best, enabling him to make throws many can't. Demonstrates quick acceleration through his throwing motion, sending the ball across the field instantaneously. Displays commendable pocket awareness, making controlled movements under pressure, showcasing his football IQ. With his significant size and stature (6'5", 235 lbs.), he exemplifies the prototypical quarterback build. Not just a stationary pocket passer; shows the ability to move off his spot and make accurate throws on the run. While his processing speed may need tuning, his velocity compensates by closing tight windows effectively. His resistance to sloppy tackle attempts due to his size means defenders need to ensure solid hits to impact him. Has a lightning-quick release that, combined with his arm strength, makes him a formidable offensive weapon. #242. Packers select: Jared Wiley TE TCU 6'7" 260lbs. QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 112.4 HANDS: 85% SHORT RECEIVING: 81% INTERMEDIATE ROUTES: 83% DEEP THREAT: 80% BLOCKING: 60% Good effort at the point of attack and second level as a blocker. Intelligent and will quickly acclimate to an NFL offense. Wiley is a natural playmaker, at his best with the ball in his hands. Varies the speed of his route, using hesitation and shoulder fakes to get the defender guessing. Good strength and effort to run through arm tackles. Excels finding soft spots in zone coverage and using his large frame to shield defenders. Good vision to set up blocks and while Wiley isn't quick enough to elude in tight quarters and take advantage of a defender leaning to spring for additional yardage. #250. Packers select: Josh Proctor S Ohio St. 6'2" 205lbs. QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 77.9 TACKLING: 78% RUN DEFENSE: 90% COVERAGE: 79% ZONE: 70% MAN/PRESS: 81% Eager to come downhill as a tackler and plays with a physical edge, and he’s effective as a blitzer. Good speed in pursuit with the chase skills to track down the ballcarrier. Quicker than Proctor is fast but has a burst to close in zone coverage and plays physical at the line in man. Gives up his body in run support with a very good closing burst. Reads and deciphers quickly, reacting in a flash with a nose for the ball. Jumps routes and drives fast on plays in front of him. Great on route recognition and has click-and-close ability. Resign: Aaron Jones RB 2yrs. $6m 80% cap hit $4,800,000. coachbuns
Like to look at all mocks. Don't know much about players so I look at the positions picked instead. I'd rather redo Jones contract which I think he'd do instead of resigning Dillion. The dollar difference shouldn't be that much different and Jones is twice the runner Dillion is. Lots of trades that I'm not sure teams will be looking to do. Overall, it takes lots of effort to do something like this and a good read. ThatJerkDave
Not as many Mizzou guys, but you did bring in Carl Beavis. 7/
Packerraymond
You do realize that we're like 15m over the cap, us being like 6m under IS the NFL raising the cap 20m. Trading Campbell saves you like 2.5m, not 14. Trading Stokes saves 1m. You save nothing from cutting these guys due to the rule of 51. Sean Rhyan G cap saved $578,917. Royce Newman G cap saved $605,611. Samori Toure WR cap saved $825,000. Luke Tenuta T cap saved $705,000. Anthony Johnson Jr. CB cap saved $825,000 You have probably 25m to play with after trading Bakh and cutting Jones. Let's start there next time. It's actually a fantastic draft, Fuaga, Kinchens, Jenkins would be about as much of a dream scenario as I could layout right now.

He doesn't want to learn, don't know if he even reads the comments. He just plain doesn't care. I like to read the mock drafts. If he stayed just with that it would be fun. But he does a whole offseason and doesn't know how to do it. To say his numbers might be a little wrong is like saying the Bears might have made the super bowl this season! vegas492
I thought this one again was unrealistic with all those releases for absolutely no reason. But, I liked the draft selections, so I'll give credit there. However....WHY YOU NO LIKE MARINELLI NO MORE?!
