AZ_Eaglesfan
I do actually like this hire even though I don't think it will have a huge impact.

I think it already has tbh. We brought him in as soon as AP was named interim coach. He and AP coached at ASU and are super tight. He has been and will act as AP's advisor. No shortage of HC experience and I love how little of an ego Pierce has. He's admitted he knows what he doesn't know, and is bringing in coaches with tons of experience. Good call as a rookie HC imo.

I do like the move to bring in guys to cover your weaknesses, but I think their is a serious X's and O's issue going on with the Raiders current staff. Combine that with what feels like a very subpar GM and I just don't have a lot of confidence in them right now. They can prove me wrong. The X's and O's on that side of the ball are very far from worrisome. How come you don't think Kliff will do well in an OC role?

It was literally just pray Kyler makes plays wayyyyy too much. The spread it out and dumb it down offense is not for me. I admittedly didn't watch much USC this season so I am not sure what he did there, but I just don't like Kliff.
nagahide13
I wonder if part of what he's doing is surrounding himself with guys with HC history to kind of help guide him early

There's lots of reports of exactly this. It's also partly why we hired Telesco over Dodds and co. Mark did not to pair a rookie HC with a rookie GM. Hiring AP and surrounding him with experienced former coaches was the plan from the beginning.
Forge
I actually really like this with Antonio Pierce. 8 minutes ago, nagahide13 said: I wonder if part of what he's doing is surrounding himself with guys with HC history to kind of help guide him early I think so. I think John Lynch did the same thing when he signed on with the 49ers. That's why they brought on guys like Martin Mayhew

Guy is a certified loser? Surround yourself with bright minds. Not guys whose glory days were off the back of Ray Lewis 25+’years ago. Like Kat said, Antonio You have an unnatural allegiance to losers, thats not like you.. Guy should have hired Tuck, Strathan and Eli.’
TheKillerNacho
now THIS is a good pickup. Perfect guy to help a young inexperienced coach.
TitanLegend
Beyond his experience as HC, Marvin had one of the best defensive minds in the game. Not sure if he's evolved as the game's evolved or not, but if he has, another bonus.
