I don't know how Chicago could turn that down. I feel like they're going to end up trading the pick when eventually, a team offers them something wild.

But I'm of the opinion that Caleb Williams is good, not amazing. I think he'll be a top 15ish QB, but isn't someone worth mortgaging your franchise for. He's QB1 for sure, but talks of him being some sort of bulletproof prospect are way overblown. I think he's an average #1 overall pick.

Jaguars offer:

Pick#17 + Some guy they're gonna cut.  Take your pick.  Probably Darious Williams is the only one.  lol.  Maybe Cam Robinson, idk what they'll do there.  But i'm pretty tired of him, so sure throw him in if it makes a difference.

My only thought on that is the "premium" that comes with this trade down - going to #9 loses the top two tackles, MHJ, Bowers, and maybe Nabers, etc.

Williams is generally regarded as a better prospect than Young or Stroud from last year. So the price to move up should be a bit higher. But there are also 3 top QB prospects this year compared to 2 last year.

Last year, to move down to 9, the Bears go 2 firsts, 2 seconds, and a good player in DJ Moore.

So, for the Raiders, it might be something like their first, second, and third in 2024, plus their first and second in 2025 plus Maxx Crosby. Vegas would probably try to move some of the picks to 2026 or substitute another player for Crosby but that's what the Bears would hold out for.

2024 2nd round pick

The dead cap CLE would have and CHI having literally zero cap tied to QB1 through 2026 would be the craziest part of this trade. Lol

nah, the crazy part is trading for a serial molester (that looked worse than 40 year old Flacco fresh off his couch)

That trade also puts Watson's value at roughly the #2 pick. Would make sense if it was 2020, but not after the last 2 seasons.

Not good enough, especially not with that absolutely insane contract for Deshaun Watson, he absolutely does not deserve that much money guaranteed.  Here is the list and all of these guys deserve it and the largest guaranteed contracts in the NFL.  Josh Allen arguably deserves a hell of a lot more guaranteed, and Wislon/Murray probably deserve less.  But still Watson is by far the guy who does not really deserve it and mostly because of his off the field actions which has basically showed his true character is a massive question mark.  The guy will never lead a team to success in my opinion, even if he was not hurt this year the Browns still would have lost in the playoffs with him as the leader of the team.

Rank Player Guarantees
1 Deshaun Watson $230 million
2 Joe Burrow $219.01 million
3 Justin Herbert $218.7 million
4 Patrick Mahomes $210.6 million
5 Lamar Jackson $185 million
6 Jalen Hurts $179.3 million
7 Russell Wilson $161 million
8 Kyler Murray $159.8 million
9 Josh Allen $150 million
10 Matthew Stafford $130 million

Browns would be far better off just moving on from that insane contract and getting a guy like Caleb Williams.  But fact is no one wants that insane contract of Deshaun Watson, one of the most foolish contracts in the history of the NFL honestly.  Especially considering he got it when all of that off the field stuff happened already and they were trying to figure all of that out, and they still paid him!  Absolutely nuts and totally desperate.

Would be curious if Kirk Cousins was with the Vikings one more year, or under contract would the Bears trade Caleb Williams and some other things for Kirk Cousins?  Not sure they would because Kirk is what he is and not sure he will get better over the next few years if anything probably will get worse.  At least with Caleb there is potential there and he could maybe become something Kirk has never been in the NFL so far.

Oh I wouldn't take the trade. Just the idea that a team give a $230 mil guarantee then immediately says, "Hey we'll pay the last $200mil if you go away." I'd laugh if it was anyone but CHI.
