notthatbluestuff
All head coaches are suddenly available to be drafted. Which coaches go first based on team needs, philosophy etc? Is Andy Reid a lock for #1 or do teams think long-term and go for Shanahan, McVay etc?

Let's say it's the same draft order as the upcoming NFL draft would be if not for traded picks etc. 1. Carolina 2. Washington 3. New England 4. Arizona 5. LA Chargers 6. NY Giants 7. Tennessee 8. Atlanta 9. Chicago 10. NY Jets 11. Minnesota 12. Denver 13. Las Vegas 14. New Orleans 15. Indianapolis 16. Seattle 17. Jacksonville 18. Cincinnati 19. LA Rams 20. Pittsburgh 21. Miami 22. Philadelphia 23. Cleveland 24. Dallas 25. Green Bay 26. Tampa Bay 27. Houston 28. Buffalo 29. Detroit 30. Baltimore 31. San Francisco 32. Kansas City
Soko
I think Andy would “fall”, mostly due to age. I think Kyle and McVay would go 1-2 in some order.
NeptunePenguins
Probably McVay first overall as Reid is pretty old. After that maybe Shanahan. Gonna have to think about the rest.
indifference
McVay goes #1 other good coaches under 50 that would go top 10 in no order Shanahan, Campbell, McDaniel, Ryans, Stefanski, Taylor, O'Connell

Yeah, I don't know how far he falls, but I definitely think McVay goes one. Reid would just go wherever someone is willing to take the risk on. I don't think it's one, but wouldn't be surprised if it's 2. I think the next two off the board are probably Shanny and Lafleur?

Toss up, tbh. I’d guess Reid 3, no lower than 5/6. I don’t know how the league would shake out beyond that. Does MLF go higher than Stefanski? Than Harbaugh? Campbell? Payton? Total coin flip, IMO. If it were me picking for every team, it’d be McVay/Shanny, then a mixed bag.

I'm taking Lafleur over all of those guys right now.
MaddHatter
I'd have a hard time taking Reid over guys like Shanahan, McVay, Lafleur and even Ryans. He's probably #10-15 on my list purely b/c of his age. Same reason why Belicheck wouldn't be in my Top
El Ramster
Kinda nuts reading the opinion on McVay going first. Talking to people and reading online, I get a sense of hate he gets… Like what he’s done hasn’t been impressive in any way. So seeing you guys think of him that high is pretty nuts. The year after the Super Bowl has been his only down season, yet people see it as that’s him. So 5 good season << 1 bad one.. I’m shocked, there’s even people who think and say Kyle is better… Like even this year 90% of the people thought Kevin Stefansky did a better job coaching.. When in really Clev was really good because of a fire as defense not because of the offense. Despite Kevin being offensive minded coach. Chubbs lost hurt no doubt, but they have a great oline and a stable of RBs who produced at a high clip…
CWood21
Think Shanny is pretty clearly #1 and McVay is #2. Would guess 3-6 is something along the lines of Reid, LaFleur, Stefanski, and Harbaugh.

And our OL was decimated by injuries last year. Far from being great.
notthatbluestuff
I wonder how high Steichen would go. I feel like that failed Minshew-Goodson play against Houston was a real sliding-doors moment. To think the Colts could've been the ones to advance to the playoffs, and the general feeling on Steichen would be very different.
jjbnum3
As a 9er fan kind, I feel Shanny is a little overrated but still young but needs to break the cycle of losing the SB. Edited March 3 by jjbnum3
