Forge
Had a lot of health issues in recent years, but for anyone my age, really was an indelible part of the NFL for the last 30 years.

adamq
I haven't watched espn in a very long time, but when I did it was the days of Wingo and Stink on NFL Live, and most importantly the Mort Report giving us all of the biggest news.. Mort was just so kind, always a person you were happy to see on screen. Even after he retired due to health, I would still hear him pop up on even dinky local morning radio shows, because he just loved to talk football with anyone and everyone. Danger
Not shocking frankly, he was in a decline for a while. Unfortunate, will be missed.

fluhartz
damn.. Mort was one the old school good journalists when ESPN was good and important to watch. Not like now with Greeny talking about Aaron Rodgers or the cowboys 2 hours a day or stephen A and whoever he has on yelling for 2 hours. Mort was actually good for TV... RIP legend Edited March 4 by fluhartz
D82
Mort's right up there with Chris Berman, Stuart Scott and others that I remember fondly during the glory days of ESPN...really sad to see him pass.

We lost John Clayton recently too. Those guys spent more time in my living room growing up than anyone who didn't live there. The fact that he was texting Daniel Jeremiah the day before his death shows how much Mort loved football. Man was 8 years into a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, but still found time for people. All time Football Guy and sports journalist, back before it was nothing but mud-slinging through "SOURCES". Sucks that he's gone, RIP.

Clayton, Madden, Summerall a decade ago...just a lot of guys that really talked football with a passion and brought knowledgable content to the viewer passing away or getting up there. It sucks...nothing compared to the content they put out now.
