TedLavie
1a- Corner: Revis contract makes him a lock to be cut in the offseason, and we have nothing aside from Peters there 1b- Nose Tackle: Logan is a FA in 2018, and let's say if our interior DL is made of Chris Jones and RNR, our run defense is not going to be good 1c- Inside Linebacker: DJ is aging, and we need someone to complement Ragland, who is a great run defender and not necessarily a great cover LB 4- Wide Receiver: Tyreek Hill is amazing, but other options are fairly underwhelming. Albert Wilson is a decent slot WR but he could be upgraded. Chris Conley will come back from an Achilles injury, so we'll see how he recovers. Even at 100% he could be upgraded as well 5- Edge defender: Dee Ford is weak against the run, and could be a cap casualty. Tamba is probably gone after next year. KPass is an unknown at this point. There's uncertainty at the LOLB spot. We could potentially roll next year with Houston and KPass starting and Dee Ford as a pass rush specialist, but another pass rusher on the cheap could be good for us. Anyway, you can never have enough pass rushers. Other needs: backup QB (assuming Alex is gone next year), TE2, LG, swing tackle

kingseanjohn
OLB CB DL (if we don't re-sign Logan) OL (mostly OT. But OG/C as well if we don't re-sign Fulton) QB (assuming Alex is gone)

kingseanjohn
Question for the guys listing ILB... Our depth chart currently has DJ, Ragland, KPL, Eligwe, Wilson, and Smtih on the 53 man. I assume you all are planning on cutting DJ which opens a spot. Do you not plan on re-signing KPL? Do you not trust the development of Eligwe, Wilson and Smith? With four draft picks, do you think it'd be wise to draft an ILB who would likely be buried on the depth chart over a position that gets rotated in more (DB, DL, etc)? What am I overlooking? My impression is that they are effective, but not necessarily a centerpiece. DJ has been the axis of the defense for a while. Tough to imagine a journeyman filling that role. I’m fine moving forward with Ragland, KPL(needs resigned), and Eligwe as a developmental guy. DJ, Wilson, and Smith I don’t really see moving forward. We need someone that can become “the guy” in the middle the though. Part of the reason Houston is being used the way he is, is because our ILB’s don’t have the range we’ve had in the past. I don’t view it as a bigger need than CB or OLB, but I would agrue about any other position.
Chiefer
I think Mahomes will do alright with Kelce and Hill as targets. Hunt, wilson and Robinson/Conley filling out the rest is pretty solid Im wondering if Fulton full time at center should be the future. Morse at LG? I think we should look at Safety. Corner definitely. @Ilb i like Ragland, KPL is decent next to him.
Chiefs_5627
To piggy back off of KSJ's post: I'm going all in with saying that, Ragland, with a full camp/healthy will be one of the better ILBs next year (Top 5-10 range). KPL has really progressed as the year has went on as well as I think he's, at least, someone we need to hang onto. Competition is never a bad thing but we do have some developmental guys in the background.
mayanfootball
DT/DE - We'll need someone to replace Logan. Hamilton probably won't stick, but we can draft 1, sign 1 (UDFA) OLB - Need a compelling pass rusher. Houston is now an injury red flag on the roster and can't be counted on 100%. Ford I consider lost to back injury and won't be the same again. Hali should retire (as should DJ). Zombo is, well Zombo and is a backup at best, not frontline starter. Kpass needs to play regular and can collapse a pocket. CB - This should be obvious by now. I don't know if KC can afford Revis or even wants him to stay. Gaines is a gonner. FS - We need a compelling starter. Parker and McQuay can fight for backup. At SS i'm not impressed with Sorensen's ability to cover and he's terrible at tackling. Murray is OK, but a bit too small. Chiefs need good tacklers at Safety and they don't have it right now. OT - Need is big. We've been lucky on the injury front with Fisher, Schwartz. Erving's gotta learn the snap count and that's a big warning flag to me. Whoever plays LG needs to add strength. This means Fisher isn't strong enough to slide over to LG. Fulton/Witzmann are backups on other teams. Get stronger or get cut. We have few quality DP's next draft. Scouting and management need to step up and add quality gems uncovered with UDFA's.
