I think my wild card would be Kyle Peko earning a spot, maybe at the expense of Crick's salary, or Gotsis not showing anything.
AnAngryAmerican
Allen Barbre did not play at CSU, Elliot. High-lighting him in green is sacrilege in this forum. I am beside myself.

Broncofan
LOL @ CSU. As much as Gotsis has a lot to prove, I don't see how he doesn't make the 53-man roster. Just too soon to write him off, and doubt he could be snuck to the PS. Maybe McKenzie could be snuck to the PS....he's really a ST-only weapon at this stage. I think we probably have to carry 8 DL rather than 7, given our altitude issues. To make that happen, I'm guessing both Jake Butt and Chad Kelly end up on the PUP, which clears 2 spots, and Virgil Green gets one final reprieve as TE. BroncoBruin
Offense (25) QB - Paxton Lynch, Trevor Siemian RB - CJ Anderson, Jamaal Charles, Devontae Booker, De'Angelo Henderson FB - Andy Janovich WR - Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Bennie Fowler, Cody Latimer, Carlos Henderson, Isaiah McKenzie TE - Virgil Green, AJ Derby, Jeff Heuerman LT - Garett Bolles, Ty Sambrailo LG - Allen Barbre, Max Garcia C - Matt Paradis, Connor McGovern RG - Ron Leary, Michael Schofield RT - Menelik Watson Defense (25) DE - Derek Wolfe, Adam Gotsis, Zach Kerr, Jared Crick, DeMarcus Walker NT - Domata Peko, Kyle Peko OLB - Von Miller, Shane Ray, Shaq Barrett, Kasim Edebali ILB - Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, Corey Nelson, Zaire Anderson CB - Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr, Bradley Roby, Lorenzo Doss, Chris Lewis-Harris, Brendan Langley S - T.J. Cutler06
Offense (25) QB - Paxton Lynch, Trevor Siemian - Paxton will be the more dynamic player in this offense RB - CJ Anderson, Jamaal Charles, Devontae Booker, De'Angelo Henderson - I'd like to see Charles starting after the bye FB - Andy Janovich - Will be a bigger part of the offense than many think WR - Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Bennie Fowler, Carlos Henderson, Cody Latimer, Isaiah McKenzie - Henderson grows into the slot by seasons end TE - AJ Derby, Virgil Green, Jeff Heuerman - Butt will replace one of these due to injury or poor play after week six LT - Garett Bolles, Ty Sambrailo - Ty has gotten stronger this off season, but is he better ? LG - Max Garcia, Allen Barbre - Garcia has the talent to start, but can he fend off Barbre ? C - Matt Paradis, Connor McGovern - Paradis is best player on the OL RG - Ron Leary, Michael Schofield - Leary solidifies the line, Schofield provides the versatility RT - Menelik Watson - Watson is the biggest question mark on the offense IMO Defense (25) DE - Derek Wolfe, Zach Kerr, Adam Gotsis, DeMarcus Walker, Jared Crick - The Broncos say Gotsis is gaining ground, some fans disagree...I'm, with the Broncos, but injuries will tell NT - Domata Peko, Tyrique Jarrett - Baby Pot Roast will emerge and plug up the middle, Domato is only passing through OLB - Von Miller, Shane Ray, Shaq Barrett, Kasim Edebali - DeMarcus will see some time here due to injuries, will he stay ? ILB - Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, Zaire Anderson, Corey Nelson - Not a Nelson fan but he does have speed to cover, Hope we look for an upgrade soon. Davis is excelling CB - Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr, Bradley Roby, Lorenzo Doss, Chris Lewis-Harris, Brendan Langley - Continuing to add young CB talent in Langley and Doss S - T.J. Ward, Darian Stewart, Justin Simmons, Will Parks - Solid with talent and youth Special Teams (3) PK - Brandon McManus - Mr. Consistent P - Riley Dixon - Rookie year had a few ups and downs but he's solid LS - Casey Kreiter - Why can't the LS play on the OL too ? Injured Reserve: Chad Kelly PUP: Jake Butt
AnAngryAmerican
I think Cutler06 might be right and there's a good chance that the team just decides to stash Chad Kelly on IR this year, opening up a roster spot.
Cutler06
Well, BroncoBruin posted it first, but I think that's what they had in mind all along when they drafted him
paul-mac
One last shot at this before preseason starts, with roster battles to watch in bold QB (2): Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch Unless we decide to add a veteran clipboard holder, like we did with Austin Davis last year, I think we only go 2 deep at QB. Chad Kelly projects as an IR-stash, whilst Kyle Sloter will likely spend the season on the practise squad. RB (4): CJ Anderson, Jamaal Charles, Devontae Booker, Andy Janovich (FB) Anderson, Charles and Booker are locks. Janovich is a lock at Full Back. Juwan Thompson, Stevan Ridley and Bernard Pierce are the odd men out, although they'll battle it out for a spot if Booker is staying on the PUP or they decide to keep four tailbacks. WR (6): Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Bennie Fowler, Carlos Henderson, Cody Latimer, Isaiah McKenzie Thomas and Sanders are obviously the top 2 whilst Henderson is guaranteed to make it as a rookie 3rd rounder. Fowler appears to be winning the battle to be the third wideout, whilst Latimer and McKenzie will handle kick and punt return respectively TE (4): Virgil Green, AJ Derby, Jake Butt, Jeff Heuerman Green is the primary blocking TE, Derby is the primary receiving TE, Butt is the big hope for the future. If they decide to keep a 4th RB, then I think Jeff Heuerman may be a surprising cut. OT (4): Garrett Bolles, Menelik Watson, Ty Sambrailo, Donald Stephenson I think Denver goes 4-deep at OT, and these are the clear top 4. OG (3): Ronald Leary, Max Garcia, Allen Barbre Garcia edges out Barbre for the Left Guard role C (2): Mathew Paradis, Connor McGovern Versatility sees McGovern beat out Billy Turner and Michael Schofield to make the team DE (4): Derek Wolfe, Adam Gotsis, Jared Crick, Zach Kerr Wolfe is Mr Reliable for the Broncos, whilst the young Aussie looks poised to seize a starting role NT (3): Domata Peko, Tyrique Jarrett, Kyle Peko Domata Peko beats out the two young guys, including his cousin Kyle, but both look like decent hopes for the future of the Nose Tackle position. OLB (5): Von Miller, Shane Ray, Demarcus Walker, Shaquil Barrett, Kasim Edebali Von, Shane and Shaq are all locks, whilst Demarcus Walker has an interesting role to play, he will likely play snaps at OLB on early downs but then slide inside and rush from the 3-tech in nickel packages. Kasim Edebali is my pick to beat out Danny Mason and Vontarius Dora for the final spot, with special teams being a key factor ILB (4): Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, Corey Nelson, Zaire Anderson Fairly clear top-4 here, not many questions to ask CB (5): Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr, Bradley Roby, Brendan Langley, Lorenzo Doss Chris Lewis-Harris might have something to say, but this looks to be a pretty clear top 5. S (4): TJ Ward, Darian Stewart, Will Parks, Justin Simmons Nothing to see here. Specialists (3): Brandon McManus, Riley Dixon, Casey Kreiter Nothing to see here
Broncofan
@paul-mac - Butt going to PUP would be a clear way to add depth elsewhere and keep Huermann for at least the first 7 weeks.
paul-mac
Changes after the first game: OUT: WR Carlos Henderson (I think he might begin the season on IR, potentially as the boomerang player) IN: RB DeAngelo Henderson (I somehow forgot to include him in my first 53)
bMiller031
Carlos Henderson's injury makes cut decisions at WR a little easier. My 53: Offense (24) QB: Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, Chad Kelly(PUP/IR) RB: C.J. Anderson, Jamaal Charles, DeAngelo Henderson, Devontae Booker(PUP/IR) FB: Andy Janovich WR: DeMaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Isaiah McKenzie, Bennie Fowler, Cody Latimer, Jordan Taylor, Carlos Henderson(PUP/IR) TE: Virgil Green, A.J. Derby, Jake Butt OT: Garrett Bolles, Menelik Watson, Ty Sambrailo, Donald Stephenson OG: Ronald Leary, Michael Schofield, Max Garcia, Connor McGovern C: Matt Paradis Defense (26) DE: Derek Wolfe, Zach Kerr, Adam Gotsis, Jared Crick DT: Domata Peko, Tyrique Jarrett EDGE: Von Miller, Shane Ray, Shaq Barrett, Vontarrius Dora, DeMarcus Walker, Kasim Edebali ILB: Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, Corey Nelson, Zaire Anderson CB: Chris Harris, Aqib Talib, Bradley Roby, Lorenzo Doss, Brendan Langley S: TJ Ward, Darian Stewart, Will Parks, Justin Simmons, Jamal Carter Specialists (3) K: Brandon McManus P: Riley Dixon LS: Casey Krieter
thebestever6
This might sound crazy but does anyone feel tj ward could be traded or released? I mean Simmons I think is ready to start. An if Orion Stewart, and Carter keep balling out. Do we risk both being cleared for the practice squad?
