mayanfootball
Seeing this on NFL network, Chad Reuter 4rd. mock draft. Projected trade: LA Rams trade #19 pick to KC for KC's picks 32 and 64. Chiefs select Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas. My take: This seems a bit over the top, but you never can tell. Worthy now holds the 40yd. dash crown at the Combine. He beat John Ross's 2017 record of 4.22sec. by 0.01sec. Worthy's 10yd split was this years best at 1.49sec. But he's definitely smallish, standing 6'1" and 171lbs. Ross carried 23lbs more. Can he catch Mahomes passes? Dunno. Worthy gave a "pass" on positional drills at they Combine. Probably won't hear from Patrick until after the Chiefs pick. It's alot to give up unless the Chiefs are pretty sure Worthy is the catch to keep after the 1yr. stint with M.Brown Edited March 24 by mayanfootball
Jakuvious
I really don't see the point. The draft is so deep at WR, and plenty of mocks have had Worthy falling to us at 32 anyways. That's a ton to give up for that for no real reason that I can see. I could see a modest trade up to make sure we get the guy we prefer, or a huge one if they thought they could get far enough to get one of the top 3 guys, but this is the option that makes the least sense to me.
mayanfootball
Worthy seems to log in at 33. I'm seeing Worthy possibly going to the Eagles on a trade back up in the 1st. rd. just before us. Also, possibly to SF at 31 in the 1st. rd.. I don't think it's a wasted pick for us if that's where they feel they must go. Habbsawce
I'd be all for moving up if they are going to address the LT position. There are 5-6 in the draft that could really meet their needs, but I doubt any of them are there at 32. I wouldn't personally want to see them move up to take a WR. Probably need to draft 2-3 OL, but getting a LT in the top 20 would be great.

I can see the Chiefs trading that high for a slider, say Brock Bowers or Jared Verse. For a WR it would have to be Odunze or Nabors. Worthy is not a slam dunk at #29 much less #19. Even Brian Thomas would have to be in the 20s. If Xavier Worhty is available at #32 the Chiefs would consider him against the candidates at OT and DL. This would likely not be an easy choice. There is next to no way that the Chiefs trade up to get him
mayanfootball
Don't take the trade then. But it's not idiotic.

This is a draft where the chiefs have a lot of small holes rather than one big one. They are not going to spend to fix a big hole for a player who might not make the cut at #32. Well, the WR hole may have just gotten much bigger 🙁

Chiefer
We may actually trade up for a WR if Rice is guilty

In-team disciplinary action will likely not affect much or any of the regular season. 4 hours ago, Chiefer said: We may actually trade up for a WR if Rice is guilty Why? It is not as if the charges are likely to involve incarceration. The penalties for reckless driving and fleeing the scene are usually a fine, loss of license, and some form of public service. If DUI is involved, it gets more serious, but these are still the type of problems teams deal with every season.
Chiefs_5627
Internet sleuths are out in full force and are saying Rice is the guy with the red rag and dashcam footage shows him coming out of the passenger side of the Lambo SUV. Still a dumbass for leaving but if he's not driving it makes me feel a bit better than it wasn't him driving like a moron...I guess 🤷

If this was for Verse, Turner, or one of the better OT, then maybe. Even someone like Chop or Brian Thomas this is too much. If Worthy is there at #32 he's not a given. I could see us going for Suamataia, Morgan, Trice, or Kneeland. There are too many similar WR in rounds #2 and #3.
