Ehhh Hightower is definitely as big of an injury as Shazier / Haden (from a football perspective, Shazier is obviously big for other reasons).  And the issue for the Pats is more quantity ... probably at least a dozen important guys out... rather than quality of any individual player... because nobody on the team other than Brady really matters.

That being said Brown is obviously a huge loss.  If we play in the AFCCG he will definitely make a difference.  Although being in Foxborough will also make a difference too.  Should be a good game.

Ryan Shazier was, quite literally, playing at a Defensive Player of the Year level. Hightower hasn't done that.

That said, as Steelers fans, we cannot argue injuries because we've been the healthiest team in the league this year. However, the 3 major injuries we've suffered are a League MVP candidate, a League DPoTY candidate, and our #1 Cornerback who was playing pretty damn good at the position.

DPoTY candidate or not, Hightower was the unquestioned leader and best player on the #1 scoring and Super Bowl winning defense last year and will end up missing basically the entire season.  The difference in the defense with and without Hightower is night and day, same with the Steelers and Shazier.  They're both huge losses.

Dang, making injury excuses already. Didn't see that coming...

Did you even bother reading before commenting?    No...you clearly didnt.

If you did, you would see that Steeler fans arent blaming injuries.   It was your boy who brought up the Patriots injuries.....and it was pointed out that the Steelers are missing high impact players as well.   .

Anyway, I'm glad the injury is not serious. The way his leg whipped out after colliding with the CB looked gruesome. Thought it was a break for sure.

Who's making excuses? Your team won on a controversial - albeit correct by a moronic rule - call.

You really don't. The Patriots have lost the most players to games this season but none of them have been All-Pro caliber players.  It's why, according to MGL, despite having the most injuries, the Patriots are behind 7 teams with over 150 MGL and right there with 12 other teams between 130 and 150 MGLs.

Not all pro, but you could easily make the argument that Hightower is far and away our most important defensive player and Edelman is like 1A and 1B with Gronk for most important offensive player outside of Brady. And then you're adding Van Noy, Hogan, Mitchell, etc on top of that who are impact players that we could use to alleviate that.

That's just homerism, tbh. He's not even close to Bobby Wagner, and even Bobby Wagner might not win it this year after today. Shazier is a good player, but that's a very inaccurate comment.

There's no need to attack other fan bases or posters.  Just keep that in mind =)

The Steelers have the Texans and Browns left on their schedule.  They should be able to win both of those games and secure one of the top two seeds in the AFC to ensure themselves a bye in the first round.  That bye week would be great to have to give Brown one more week to get ready.
