Rich7sena
I know I just posted an updated 2 round mock draft two days ago, but it was really in preparation for my first mock offseason of the year! I really love doing these and it's the time of year when I really get to understand how teams outside my own operate. Enjoy Quick Note: I only include free agent signings I consider notable. In other words, I only include free agent signings which would have some affect on what happens in the first 2 days of the draft. CWood21
LOVE the work you put into this. The Packers aren't taking a WR in the 1st round. They haven't taken an offensive skill position player since TT has been here. Outside of Aaron Rodgers, he's either taken an OT or gone defense with every pick. That's not going to change this year. Arden Key [EDGE; LSU] or Harold Landry [EDGE; Boston College] would be the more likely pick. They're both BPA over Kirk, and fit a bigger positional need. I don't mind double-dipping into the EDGE position, but I don't think they're going to do it with back-to-back picks. Probably going WR or CB here if the board presents itself. Maxmw22
Appreciate the work, I am not sure about the Bills drafting a QB and trading for one. You could go either one, but with only 35 people signed to the roster next year, even if they wanted to, I can't see them doing both.
Mastercheddaar
For Cleveland - Not to be greedy here but if someone wants to trade up 6 spots for their QB of the future and we miss out on Fitzpatrick, Chubbs, or Barkley because of it... I'm going to want a lot more than a 1st, 2nd and a future 3rd. They can give up the better of the 2 2nd rounders, their 1st next year and I'd even try to madden a later round pick as well. Sutton is good, don't get me wrong but Fitzpatrick would solidify a weaken in our secondary, Chubbs would make our front 7 unstoppable or Barkley would instantly be Darnold's best friend. As for the rest, focus on OL, DBs, and/or BPA. With 4 projected 2nd rounders there is no reason we couldn't trade back into the 1st as well. I know, Cleveland isn't the most fascinating team but our drafts are fun to mock. That is all Mastercheddaar

Ghostnote
I am inclined to believe that Sam Darnold is not the top rated QB let alone the top overall prospect in this draft class. To have him go first overall is bold but completely misguided. I can see th Cardinals moving on him at 12. Not #1 Overall.

To me he has : Size totake on hits, a very strong arm, very impressive throwing in motion, can run if needed but do not force, throw in very tights windows...Id like to have your opinion to say he is more of a mid round QB. There are too many teams inside the top 10 that have a high probability of picking a QB. Cleveland at 1 and New York at 2 both seem poised to take QBs. In the odd chance the Browns don't go QB at 1, they're almost certainly taking one at 4. San Francisco, Chicago, and Tampa Bay are very unlikely to take a QB that high. It's unlikely, but Cincinnati could entertain the idea of taking a QB. Denver at 9 and New York at 10 both would likely love the opportunity to take a QB as well. That's four teams that I think would seriously consider taking a QB inside the top 10. Cleveland, NY Giants, Denver, and NY Jets are all serious threats to take a QB. Darnold won't last that long. ny92mike
I really hope that the Giants aren't looking to trade or cut Eli Manning. Would be a huge mistake imo. I do like that you've got Richburg returning to the team. imo, he's the best lineman we've got and would hate to see him leave.

Sure. Darnold has confidence issues. He seems to hesitate on some throws and also likes to try the home run too often which leads to turnovers. He typically tends to show out in games he is supposed to like Colorado and Utah, but will struggle at times in the bigger games. That is likely due to his inexperience being a Red Shirt Sophomore. Darnold has some spots, but even when he balls out, he still tends to turn the ball over. Darnold would be better served staying in school and getting that extra year under his belt and work on his mistakes, IMO. He does have some mechanics issues in footwork and his throwing motion could be quickened. He is not raw like Lamar Jackson, but he does need some coaching to get him to an NFL ready status. Between the two, Rosen had the better game against USC. He has more poise, mechanics and decision making in terms of reading defenses. He is just a more polished QB and has lead his team from one of the biggest comebacks down 44-10 to Texas A&M and won the game 45-44. Rosen would be the closest QB to go overall #1 than Darnold. Check any site out there. SI, CBS, Walter, they all have Rosen higher rated than Darnold.
LinderFournette
Jacksonville is going to keep Allen Robinson. He will at the very least be tagged which means the 49ers will be coughing up 2 1st for him. As for the picks round 1 is decent. Round 2 sucks. Regardless of how u feel about our pass rush and your supposed thinking we need an edge rusher well we dont. Give us a guy like Braden Smith or Mason Rudolph. From a November Daniel Jeremiah article: I suspect their is a big divergence between the internet and the NFL when it comes to quarterbacks this year. I believe the NFL, on average, prefers Darnold to Rosen, likes Allen as a first rounder, and sincerely questions Jackson's viability to play quarterback in the NFL. I'm in the Darold camp myself, so it isn't tough for me to imagine him going first overall

They just drafted Myles Garrett, Larry Ogunjobi and Caleb Brantley a year ago. 4 hours ago, Rich7sena said: NEW YORK GIANTS FREE AGENCY DRAFT CUTS: Eli Manning Brandon Marshall (retire) RE-SIGN: Weston Richburg TRADE: N/A SIGN: Jerick McKinnon Nigel Bradham 1.2 - Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA 2.34 - Will Hernandez, OL, UTSA 3.66 - Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn I would be very surprised if the Giants let Eli Manning go when any veteran backup quarterback worth his salt is going to be just as expensive. Also, it's my understanding that Brett Jones has been just as good at center for the Giants as Weston Richburg, meanwhile they have very little at.... anywhere else on their offensive line. 4 hours ago, Rich7sena said: HOUSTON TEXANS FREE AGENCY DRAFT CUTS: Brian Cushing RE-SIGN: N/A TRADE: N/A SIGN: Richard Sherman Nate Solder Justin Pugh Prince Amukamara Morgan Burnett 3.70 - Dallas Goedert, TE, SDSU 3.81 (from Seattle) - Martez Ivey, OL, Florida That's a lot of free agent activity for a team with the ninth most cap room. Especially compared to teams with two literal times as much free agent money. 4 hours ago, Rich7sena said: NEW YORK JETS FREE AGENCY DRAFT CUTS: Muhammad Wilkerson Matt Forte RE-SIGN: Demario Davis Austin Seferian-Jenkins Quincy Enunwa TRADE: 1.10, 2.50, and 2019 3rd round pick traded to Cleveland for 1.4 SIGN: Kyle Fuller Alex Okafor Cornellius Carradine 1.4 - Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma 2.41 - Carlton Davis, DB, Auburn 3.72 - Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Edge, Oklahoma 1. No, I've been told if the Jets are going to trade up for Baker Mayfield, it's going to cost at least three first rounders, and my opinion against such a thing isn't needed or wanted. 2. The Jets don't need to re-sign Quincy Enunwa and sign Kyle Fuller. A trio of Enunwa, Robbie Anderson and Jermaine Kearse is more than serviceable. 4 hours ago, Rich7sena said: SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS FREE AGENCY DRAFT CUTS: N/A RE-SIGN: Jimmy Garoppolo TRADE: 2.56 traded to New Orleans for Mark Ingram SIGN: Allen Robinson Ross Cockrell Trent Murphy 1.5 - Derwin James, DB, Florida State 3.68 - Braden Smith, OL, Auburn 3.71 - Micah Kizer, LB, Virginia So San Francisco is going to trade a second round pick for a 28 year old running back in a contract year so the Saints can draft his replacement with the selection? How frequently do trades like that actually happen? And then they're going to address cornerback with Ross Cockrell? 4 hours ago, Rich7sena said: DENVER BRONCOS FREE AGENCY DRAFT CUTS: Aqib Talib RE-SIGN: Matt Paradis Shaquil Barret Emmanuel Sanders (restructure) TRADE: N/A SIGN: Kirk Cousins Justin Ellis 1.9 - Quenton Nelson, OL, Notre Dame 2.40 - Isaiah Oliver, DB, Colorado 3.74 - Alex Cappa, OL, Humboldt State Aqib Talib was just elected to the pro bowl. It's not letting me quote properly from this point on so I'm just going to have to make assorted comments. Buffalo Bills - You have them trading a second round pick for McCarron and then drafting a quarterback in the first round. They're not going to do both. New England Patriots - The Patriots are going to let Bennett walk after assuming his contract knowing he was hurt, and they're going to replace him with Jordan Reed so they can have the two most injury prone TE's on the same team? Philadelphia Eagles - They're five million over the cap, they have to cut someone. Probably Vinny Curry.
