goldfishwars Posted December 23, 2017 Share Posted December 23, 2017 1.Cleveland-Josh Rosen[QB]UCLA We are at the point in Cleveland's turnaround where they just have to take the best signal caller available and the QB with the fewest holes, right now, appears to be Josh Rosen 2.NY Giants-Sam Darnold[QB]Southern California Any chance you're picking this high and able to pass the torch from one franchise QB to another, you have to take it. 3.Indianapolis-Bradley Chubb[DE]NC State In reality, the Colts need to sell this pick to the highest bidder and get the hell out of here because there's a whole lot of patching up to do. As it is, Chubb gives them an edge player they haven't had in a good while. 4.Cleveland (From Houston)-Saquon Barkley[RB]Penn State Cleveland have a decent backfield pairing as it is, but Barkley is a league above that and one of the few special talents in this draft. This should be a no-brainer. 5.San Francisco-Courtland Sutton[WR]Southern Methodist The jury is somewhat out on where this guy's ceiling is and a trade out of this spot would be nice, but Jimmy G could do with a big weapon on the outside and they don't come much bigger. 6.Chicago-Roquan Smith[ILB]Georgia The Bears are in dire need of ball catchers, but could land themselves a key defensive piece if they choose to stick at 6. They've got some nice young pieces on defense and adding Smith could give them the kind of defensive marshal at linebacker they haven't had a for a good while 7.Tampa Bay-Derwin JamesFlorida State There's a number of places Tampa could go here, but an enormous versatile safety in James isn't something they have had for a while. 8.Cincinnati-Connor Williams[OT]Texas The offensive line talent is yet to shake itself out in this class, but the Bengals have let key talent walk and replaced them with inferior players. It's time to undo those mistakes because it has hurt. 9.Denver-Baker Mayfield[QB]Oklahoma If Elway can't coax a veteran like Eli to Denver, which might be his first option, then it's probably time to dip back into the draft market with nobody on the current roster looking like a long-term option. Elway's preference might be for Mayfield's lower floor after the upside of the Paxton Lynch pick has failed to bear any fruit 10.NY Jets-Lamar Jackson[QB]Louisville I think Jackson will get overlooked and over-analysed during the process, but more to the benefit of the Jets who could land a bargain here if they're willing to play to his strengths 11.Arizona-Josh Allen[QB]Wyoming Whilst Jackson could get pulled apart, I expect the opposite to be true of a toolsy QB in Allen. A QBOTF hungry team like Arizona might convince themselves he's worth the investment here and gives Arians the arm talent to convince him to stick around 12.Oakland-Derrius Guice[RB]LSU Beast Mode might be one and done in Oakland, but the offense still needs an identity at running back and could land the most violent runner in college football here. 13.Washington-Minkah Fitzpatrick[FS]Alabama It feels like it's been a while since Washington have had a top tier safety and Fitzpatrick could upgrade the back end of that defense 14.Miami-Quenton Nelson[OG]Notre Dame It's rare for pure guard talents to get drafted in the top ten, so it wouldn't be a shock to see Nelson last to 14. Miami has long needed to get a dominant inside player, which Nelson has the tools to become 15.LA Chargers-Vita Vea[DT]Washington The Chargers have got by without a top tier run stuffer on the front end, but might find it hard to overlook someone who could help provide a bunch more third and longs for Bosa and Ingram to go eat 16.Green Bay-Arden Key[DE]LSU Clay Matthews is no longer what he was and Nick Perry perhaps is never more than a middling talent. Key could step in and be the situational pass-rusher they might need to terrorise offenses once more 17.Baltimore-Calvin Ridley[WR]Baltimore Baltimore needs weapons on the outside, Alabama are sending yet another to the pros. Some things are just meant to be. 18.Detroit-Clelin Ferrell[DE]Clemson The Lions are looking for a consistent edge threat and could deliver that with Ferrell 19.Seattle-Orlando Brown[OT]Oklahoma Jury is out on his talent, but Brown could be a gift right tackle opposite Duane Brown which could finally give Seattle starting calibre bookends 20.Dallas-James Washington[WR]Oklahoma State Dallas as looked a little short of consistent passing weapons on the outside and an uber productive talent in Washington could become an x-factor 21.Tennessee-Harold Landry[DE]Boston College The Titans pass-rush has looked tired at times, Landry hasn't met the heady expectations he set in 2016 - but could still be a difference maker here 22.Buffalo-Christian Wilkins[DT]Clemson The Bills need starting calibre talent on the interior of their defensive line, Wilkins can bring that 23.Atlanta-Maurice Hurst[DT]Michigan Hurst has some outside/inside pass-rush to his game, something that could be a little intriguing to a Falcons defensive line looking to bolster numbers 24.New Orleans-Marcell Ateman[WR]Oklahoma State Apart from Michael Thomas, New Orleans suddenly looks short of receiving weapons on the outside. Ateman could be the red zone weapon they've missed this year. 25.Buffalo (From Kansas City)-Denzel Ward[CB]Ohio State Ward should go higher than this spot, but being a little shorter than ideal might drop him a few spots. A running mate for Tre White could make it very difficult to pass on the Bills for the foreseeable. 26.Jacksonville-Will Hernandez[OG]Texas-El Paso The Jags could go a number of places here, but first and foremost to the future plans is being able to run the football. A lunk like Hernandez might be just the ticket. 27.LA Rams-Brian O'Neil[OT]Pittsburgh The Rams won't have Andrew Whitworth around forever, so an athletic project in O'Neil to groom him behind could be a nice option here. 28.Carolina-Joshua Jackson[CB]Iowa The Panthers need a starting calibre corner opposite James Bradberry and Jackson has a lot to like here. 29.Pittsburgh-Malik Jefferson[OLB]Texas As sad as it is, the Steelers are going to need to look to fill a position with a Ryan Shazier sized hole on it 30.Minnesota-Braden Smith[OG]Auburn The Vikings have turned around their fortunes off the back of investments in their offensive line, Smith might be a surprise here - but they could do a lot worse than someone who is ready to plug and play in the NFL 31.New England-Sam Hubbard[DE]Ohio State Everything about him screams Patriot and the Belichick/Schiano connection makes this a distinct possibility. 32.Philadelphia-Bryce Love[RB]Stanford Running back isn't the most obvious need for the Patriots, but a thunder and lightning backfield might be enough to sustain them on offense until Wentz returns. They just traded for Ajayi who has looked good with his touches and has shown to be a capable bell cow. Plus, Blount and Clement have both been effective and there are also rumors that Darren Sproles might be coming back next year. Might as well had them picking a QB.
