TecmoSuperJoe
Jed York: When can we get underway, damnit!!! Chris Foerster: That's five positions! She can stay afloat with the first four positions breached, but not five! Chris Foerster: Not five. As she goes down by the helmet, the defenders will spill over the tops of the line from one to the next. Back and back. There's no stopping it. Kyle Shanahan: ...Puni is a good rookie. And if Jaylon Moo- Chris Foerster: [interrupting] The rook buys you time, but a nanosecond only!!! From this moment, no matter what we do, the line will founder.... Jed York: ....[incredulously] But this line can't sink! Chris Foerster: She's made of scrubs, sir!!!! I assure you, she can... and she will. It is a mathematical certainty. Kyle Shanahan: ...How much time??? Chris Foerster: ...A game...two at most... Kyle Shanahan: And how many aboard Mr. Lynch??? John Lynch: 53 souls on board, sir. Kyle Shanahan: [turning to York] Well, I believe you may get your headlines, Mr. York... Please pay Trent. Steve_DeBerg_Fan_420
Trent moves the line in Vegas three full points. I feel like this should be done already.

Forge
“The 49ers have work to do, I’m told Trent Williams is not happy and the threat of him missing games is real,” Fowler said. “A lot of times that’s a negotiating pull, I don’t sense it is right now. He’s made $150 million dollars in his career. He’s got no guaranteed money left on his deal.” The ESPN analyst then explained that Williams and the 49ers remain at a standstill in contract negotiations even with the NFL season less than a week away
Forge
I wonder if they are talking full on extension with Trent. He has stated in the past that he'd like to play until he's 40. Give him a two year extension on his remaining three years, that puts him right through age 40.
Mdpackfan22
An an unbiased POV(actually extremely biased cause I hate the niners with every fiber of my being), the hold up is Trent wants his entire contract guaranteed. This puts the Niners in a pickle cause if they cave to his demands and he decides to retire next year, all the remaining guaranteed accelerates onto the cap in the year they have to extend Purdy which will really screw your guys cap position. Tough position to be in and Trent knows he has the niners by the balls.

straighthate
He shouldn’t have signed a six year deal if he wanted to make sure each year he was the highest paid tackle. He got the security of a long term deal, now shut up and play. Sick of this selfish and short sided crap. Get on the field with your teammates. Three more years on the deal. It’s not like we’re talking anywhere close to a contract year. Any of you guys get to tell your boss I’m not showing up to work until you pay me more money than I agreed to accept when I started? Including how much more money you’d make each year than the year before? It’s a long season. Take the chance and wait him out. Niners caving to every demand is making them look weak and hurts future negotiations.

He got the security of a long term deal, now shut up and play. He didn't get the security of a long term deal. That doesn't really exist in the NFL outside of Watson. Your security lasts for as long as his guaranteed money does (and even then, not always the case... See Wilson, Russell). 36 minutes ago, straighthate said: Any of you guys get to tell your boss I’m not showing up to work until you pay me more money than I agreed to accept when I started? But humorously I have told my employer that I was leaving unless they gave me a certain job and raise. And yes, I got that job and raise and am still with the company. I have also played hardball to get extra vacation time
