Soko
Week 1’s around the corner, football’s finally back! New look offense with Jacoby at the helm. The sameish defense, now with Covington calling plays. Cincy’s a big first step (haven’t heard anything concrete on Chase yet?). The season certainly isn’t looking optimistic, but there are still things we can look forward to watching. For all the talk about Mayo and his press conferences/decisions in the offseason, it ll be interesting to see how he is as an in-game coach. It’ll be a big adjustment there. How does the WR rotation look? Do we see Lowe and Sow back manning the left side? Do White and Gonzo make the second year leap? What’re you looking forward to seeing? Hunter2_1
Week 1 babbaaaayyy!! Jermaine Burton has been sleeping through their team meetings, and probably will still light us up. Let’s f go baby! Interesting to see what our defense looks like sans BB for the first time! Do they retain his incredible knowledge in the secondary? Seemed like it didn’t matter who was back there, they were competent. They might be without Chase, so let’s see how they portion responsibility with their weapons. their DL is one of the better ones, for me Hendrickson - Hill - Rankins - Hubbard. They’ll breakfast lunch and dinner on our pathetic wet paper bag of an OL. - can we keep Jacoby alive and spare Maye? - can we put together more than 3 drives of more than 5 plays? - can we score a FG? Let’s see. Cinci by
jofos
I think it will be better and worse than most Patriot fans expect. The offensive line will play better than most people expect, the bar is set very low so playing bad is better than really bad. I think most people expect the defense to get a lot of pressure, but I think the only way they can get pressure is to blitz and Burrow will pick them apart.

I'm not talking wins and losses here talking about how it flows. N Players, the only one I want to look at is Polk. Everything else wait until next year. IheartMyV8
I'm expecting a laughably bad trainwreck, so my expectations are low. Hoping for some consistency and cohesion, and at least be competitive.
Hunter2_1
There were games last year where we didn’t earn a first down through our offense. I can’t remember the oppo, but one game we relied on pens to move the chains and our D gave us a very short field to score, which we did. Otherwise we punted or turned it over on every possession. My expectations are so low, that I’d take a couple of longish drives. I just want two drives of over 8 plays. How’s that.
Hunter2_1
So what stat lines we thinking? Brissett O/U: 199 yards? Stevenson: 18 carries? How many receptions will the top receiver get? Will it be Henry or Douglas?
jofos
The Bengals had two games last year where they held their opponent to under 150 passing yards, both games were against Alex Van Pelts offense.

Soko
Chase has basically outright stated otherwise, but if this comes to fruition… Is there a chance? lol EDIT: Higgins is doubtful, so that’ll help.

Looks like Chase is playing, so it’s moot anyway (and I’d still pick the Bengals if he wasn’t). But it ain’t a QB vs QB league in a single regular season game. I agree with you 100%, but a good QB throwing to bad WRs is better than a bad QB throwing to bad WRs.

Again, not really entertaining the take altogether…but I’d take Polk/Born/Douglas/Stevenson/Henry 100/100 times over Iosivas/Erwin/Jones/Moss/Gesicki. I think there’s a significant gap there. Not as significant as the Grand Canyon sized gap between Brissett and Burrow, to be clear lol. Still a Bengals W.
Soko
Sow’s been ruled out. The weak get weaker, lol.
