vike daddy
Let's see some PREDICTONS from our guys here! not so much win/loss predictions but individual and team accomplishments. here's some from Dustin Baker: Defense Is the Vikings’ Foremost Signature By mid-October, despite employing an offense-first head coach in Kevin O’Connell, the Vikings will very visibly look the part of a defense-first franchise. The offense will encounter ruts while the defense remains consistent even as the franchise battles a brutal schedule out of the gate. Fans will think something to the effect of: “I can’t wait to pair J.J. McCarthy with this defense.” Will Reichard Erases Evil Kicking Memories For about 25-30 years, Vikings fans have feared the worst from kickers — because of documented, horrid examples of malfeasance. The dread is warranted. Reichard has performed well this summer, every step of the way, in fact. It won’t be a one-year process due to the scar depth, but the team’s faithful will begin to trust Reichard — so much so that the apprehension pre-snap with field goals and extra points will diminish. The new kicker will be the real deal. Ty Chandler Ends Up with More Yards from Scrimmage than Aaron Jones Aaron Jones will turn 30 in December, and there’s only one knock on the man throughout his seven-season career — injuries. If one had to wager, it’s safe to bet that Jones will miss time because of an ailment, and when Chandler steps in, he’ll thrive like he did down the stretch of 2023. Meanwhile, Vikings fans don’t mention this enough: Chandler is a speedster. He ran a faster 40-yard dash in 2022 than Adrian Peterson in 2007. Because of injury or generalized wear and tear, Jones won’t play all 17 games, and by the time the season concludes, Chandler will have more rushing attempts and yards than Jones. Blake Brandel Will Be a Baller Minnesota’s coaching staff has trusted Blake Brandel with the starting left guard job all offseason. Put plainly, they know he’s good. What’s more, his establishment as LG1 arrived so vehemently that Dalton Risner was moved to right guard as a total no-brainer. There was no competition. When the 2024 season wraps up, Brandel will showcase a Pro Football Focus grade north of 70.0. Myles Gaskin Takes a Kick Return to the House Like the coaching staff trusting Brandel, it also believes Myles Gaskin is a true-blue kick returner with the NFL’s new rules. Gaskin is also the Vikings’ third running back behind Jones and Chandler. Because of their faith, Gaskin will reward the team’s trust with one kickoff return for a touchdown. https://vikingsterritory.com/2024/news/top_news/dustin-bakers-5-bold-predictions-for-2024-vikings?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook
cconocool
They fall out of playoff contention for the tough beginning part of the season, but, with the lighter schedule towards the end, they fall short of a playoff spot and lose position in the draft.
SteelKing728
The defense will be even better this season than last season! Skol!

Don't care about the draft when they only have 3 picks... My bold prediction is that the Vikings finish as a top 5 defense and Dallas Turner breaks Keith Millard's Vikings rookie record in sacks (which is 11). Offensively, Aaron Jones finally makes the KOC running game look competent with over 800 yds rushing and 500 yds receiving.
Captain Relax
My biggest, boldest prediction: RG Ed Ingram will finally play borderline Pro Bowl football!!

I am setting a low bar for this season, but I could see the defense looking great.
Socrates
Let's go crazy: Sam Darnold ends up being a Pro Bowl alternate. Vikings are top 5 in turnover ratio. Vikings win a playoff game.

wcblack34
Taki Taimani is a starter by the end of the season. His presence on the inside shores up the run defense as Taimani, Bullard and Phillips form a wall that allows for Greenard, Pace, Turner and Van Ginkel to unleash havoc on opposing quarterbacks. By the end of the season, the Vikings are a Top 10 defense.

SemperFeist
I wonder what the national opinion would be if McCarthy were healthy? Most pundits seem to think that we’re going to get the Jets version of Sam Darnold.

But this team played a lot of close games with Josh Dobbs and Mullens under Center. There's no question that, from a pure talent standpoint, Darnold is leagues ahead of them. This team will chase a Wild Card spot all season. Are they likely a Super Bowl team? Nope. But I like our chances as much, or more, than Chicago, Green Bay, Jacksonville, Tampa, Washington and the Rams.
SemperFeist
With O’Connell calling the plays and the rest of the talent on the offense, 4,000 yards, and 25 touchdowns seems very reasonable from Darnold. And if he can keep his interceptions around 12, I think the Vikings will surprise a lot of people.
