Jeesh, 6 days till kick off and we don’t even have a GDT up yet!! Man this group is DEAD!!!! I know this teams offseason was extremely lack luster, with many questions remaining to be answered, but dang, wake up y’all!!

Anyways, with no further a-due, here is my generic GDT!!

When: Sunday afternoon 4:25 EST kick off time

Where: Cleveland

Couple articles to dive into:

Just a few things I want to see.
1. Improved run game utilizing a solid rotation

2. Much Improved run defense

3. How well Tyler Guyton fairs against Myles Garrett, Rookie vs reigning defensive player of year

That being said, LETS GET READY TO RUUUMMMBBBLLLEEEEE!!!!!!!

Like I said in the Browns forum, I can easily see this game going either way but my gut says you guys take it. We're supposedly starting Jack Conklin - who's a RT and recovering from an injury - at LT due to Wills being hurt still. Our running game will likely be mediocre at best and we have a new offensive scheme with Dorsey coming in. I just think those issues on offense vs. a talented defense will be too much to overcome week one.

Let’s just say that I see this as being a defensive battle.  If the browns had Chubb and their OL was at full strength, I think they’d dominate the run game.  But, without Chubb and dominating OL, we have a chance.  Let’s be real… this game will tell us a lot about our young OL and whether Steele is back to pre-injury status.  I have a feeling Dak is going to be hating life.  We probably have the better kicker if the game comes down to FGs.  So, there’s that going for us.

First official depth chart. Zeke is RB1 🤢

Feels like I’m being setup. Silence the doubters, start off with a nice, clean win for the impending roller coaster ride.

27-13, Dallas.

I can’t take this team serious with Zeke as RB1

4 rookie starters.

I looked back all the way to 1989, and couldn’t find a single example of 4 week 1 rookie starters for Dallas. The closest I found was 2002 with Roy Williams, Andre Gurode, and Antonio Bryant.

I'm excited about the young Lbs and OL.

I still don't believe in the integrity of the sport but pro wrestling is still going strong so what the hell.

I've given up on having expectations with this team so, we could win, we could lose, we can go bust or win the SB. It's not like the old days when a team drafted well, groomed players, you saw their development thru the years until they peaked and won or fizzled out.

This NFL is a totally different animal with no integrity in the sport but rather focused on mouth, attitude, looks and image.

Its a joke. But again, I've invested half a century of my life in this team, I may as well see how it ends.

So I wonder how we handle road games this year. We were 8-0 at home, and 4-5 on the road. Those four wins coming against the Giants(6-11), the Chargers(5-12), the Panthers(2-15), and Commanders(4-13). Anybody with an ounce of fight beat us.

Dak averaged 227.3 yards, 1.6 TDs, 0.6 INTs, and 2.4 sacks per road game last year. I benched him in favor of Kyler Murray and Geno Smith in the two leagues I have him in fantasy. Hope I regret that.

I am sorry no bad thoughts can be had loosing at SF at Mia at Buff and at Philly.  Those are all games any team but KC would be expected to loose and even KC wouldn’t be favorites in all of them. Yes the early season AZ loss indeed fits your  narrative but that place is a house of horrors for us over the years

This game is another schedule potential loss.   We play Cleveland at home I think we easily win by double digits.  The stat clev allowed 14 or so at home and 30 or so on road is telling.  We do though get a break with out Chubb.  Still as Cleveland has a bunch of unknown on O coming in and we have zero tape to see what exactly they will be doing is a plus for them while our offense is well known and frankly very predictable.

as you mention OL will be huge.  Zeke starting is a publicity move IMO I see Dowdle getting the major 1st 2nd down reps with Vaughn and Zeke splitting the rest unless short yardage or goal line.

Excuses excuses….

We were bad on the road last year, that isn’t just my narrative. We lost to the Cardinals, we barely beat the Chargers by 3, it was 17-10 against the panthers going into the 4th quarter, we lost in philly, buf, miami, SF… and all of our stats took a major dip on the road.

Obviously that was last year and this is this year so it means nothing. But it’s something to keep an eye on. Especially opening up on the road against a team that was REALLY good(8-1) at home last year.

Not excuse just reality. We really only had THREE totally bad games all last year.  A early one at AZ and then at Buffalo and at SF. I just get tired of the negativity about everything.  Where the negative of three bad games means more then the positive of 12 WINS.  I have been watching following for a long long time and have watched every Super Bowl Dallas has played in.  Right now only two teams have won more and NO one has been in more than us. One person posted something I read in my Facebook that rings true to me.   Dak gets more hate for not winning a superbowl than ANY other QB who also has yet to win a superbowl and it’s not even close.  But what ever man.

I am so disappointed in how there seems to be ZERO real fan base here wanting to talk football rather then the same o some no Dak sucks the owners suck. Well guess what the owner has sucked for over thirty years no reason to expect that to change.  On almost all the forums I’ve been involved with all the QB’s after Staubach has been called trash by majority of posters.  And guess what who ever replaced Dak will be called trash as well.  I just have to except that as well.

Guess what Dak is not trash the team is not trash and sometimes you just get bad breaks that lead to a loss and it’s not an excuse.  You then say we didn’t play well enough to win and it was unfortunate we didnt get a break to two go our way rather then against us and move on

Sunday I hope Cleveland’s OT starters are indeed not playing and being without Chub this should help us contain the run game and hopefully get an effective pass rush to help prevent them taking advantage of our secondary.  Then the main issue would be containing Watson in the pocket.
On our side I am not confident we will have smooth sailing. If our OL gives holes our running backs will be fine but I’m not sure we will see those holes or see our QB actually have time in the pocket to find open receivers.   From what I understand the front 7 of Cleveland is their strength so maybe Lamb and Cooks plus our TE’s can find open spaces. Some of the times though we seem to depend upon slow developing routes which will be a problem in this game.  A lot or roll outs to the right side might be in order or have the TE chip before going out on his route
