SodeeWater_Cheezburger
More of the same for Watson. "The new civil suit claims Watson exposed himself, requested a massage and sexually assaulted the victim before she was able to resist and get him to leave her apartment. Watson, who at the time was on the Houston Texans, violated sections of the Texas state "penile code" for indecent exposure and assault, per the suit, and the plaintiff seeks damages of more than $1,000,000." https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-qb-deshaun-watson-accused-of-sexual-assault-battery-while-on-date-in-oct-2020-in-new-civil-suit What do you guys think? Considering the way he played in the Week 1 game, could this cause the Browns to bench or suspend him? If they do, who do they go to for a replacement? thebestever6
I'm just interested in it from the browns perspective I think Florio said there's a chance they can get out if the contract if he didn't disclose this to them.

I heard some people talking (maybe it was the Florio conversation too) where they mentioned that the Browns could possibly void the contract, but they would still get the massive salary cap hit. Yes, punish them both. This is the way. The Browns should not be let off that easy after all the mismanagement they've done surrounding this situation.

naptownskinsfan
That would be such a windfall for the Browns if they are able to get out of it. Honestly, if this wasn’t disclosed, suspend him indefinitely. And maybe even if they can’t get out of it, do you chalk it up as a lost cause and cut him? At least you stink for this year, and get a high pick to bring a QB in on an entry-level contract to balance it out
Popular Post Apparition
The team knew his history when they gave him the contract. They shouldn't be allowed to weasel out now.
Popular Post TitanLegend
Browns should cut him and still be forced to pay out his contract, but split among his victims instead. They shouldn't have a "get out of jail free" card for that contract. Not like they're unaware of who/what he was.

If they did, for this year it would be Jameis Winston.
Soko
IIRC, the hearing concluded that Watson isn’t going to be punished for any further instances that occurred in XYZ time period.
