We did beat the Chiefs last year without completing a pass after the first quarter…….. not an ideal plan going forward though. I think if we can play great defence and run the ball at least decently then efficient passing might just be enough in a lot of cases. I don’t think we need to throw for 300 yards but if we can convert 3rd downs, keep ahead of the chains I don’t think it’s unviable. We just need an efficient game manager type QB, not really what you think of when you think Gardner Minshew to be fair 😁

The optics were bad enough before this, now he wants to dodge questions about his liking that sm post. The least you can do is own up to it or give an answer besides "I'm on to Denver". Bottom line, the CEO/defensive minded HC doesn't typically survive a failed OC hire and that is where we are at. Got it wrong with Getsy and it took all of 3 weeks for it to start unraveling. Best offensive player wants out and things are going to get ugly. We've seen this movie so many times now. Hopefully this all ends with a decent draft pick and new offensive minded head coach who can help develop a young QB. The Raiders don't need a cheerleader HC. They need an X's and O's guy and preferably one with some clout coming in from a culture perspective. I don’t think the OC is the problem, I think it’s the QB. I think the criticism of Getsy has almost reached Carr proportions around here 😁

Justwinning
Rickey lost credibility to me saying Aiyuk to Pittsburgh was a shoe-in. He's been correct on a surprisingly amount of things, but I think he's more a of good guesser.

The Aiyuk was a massive swing and a miss, but he called so much other stuff well before it was public knowledge.

It was done until it wasn't: Quote Brandon Aiyuk was reportedly close to being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he ultimately decided to stay with the San Francisco 49ers: Negotiations The Steelers were reportedly close to acquiring Aiyuk in a trade during the 2024 NFL Draft and months later. The 49ers and Aiyuk were in a contract stalemate, and the team reportedly decided to trade Aiyuk to the Steelers. Last-minute decision Aiyuk showed up early to the facility on the day the deal was to be finalized and spoke with his head coach, Kyle Shanahan. Shanahan gave Aiyuk an ultimatum to make a decision by the end of practice. Contract extension Aiyuk ultimately decided to stay with the 49ers and signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension. The contract made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL if he had signed it earlier.

agarcia34
Don’t give Ricky much slack with the Aiyuk thing. It was reported that the 49ers and the Steelers agreed to a trade. The day Aiyuk agreed to the deal is when the 49ers gave him an ultimatum and be picked to stay. Also would be happy to see Adam’s go to the Jets cause he ain’t winning a Super Bowl there. Going from one train wreck to another train wreck. Edited October 3 by agarcia34

If Super Bowl is his main priority, he should be looking at the Jets, Cowboys, Lions, Packers, and Ravens. More of a chance sure, but that team has it own issues to deal with.
