Week 5: Packers @ Rams - Get Right Time

Game that we should win.  Rams never start games fast, they once again are dealing with a rash of injuries, and old man Stafford isn't what he once was.

On paper we got everything that should go our way.  A less hobbled Love, a WR and TE group that should still be able to give defenses fits even without Watson, and what should be another good outing for Josh Jacobs.

Only thing we don't got going our way obviously is Narveson.

I expect us to get the lead first, but we're gonna have to build it and put enough distance between us and the Rams O so that they don't make a late game surge on us like they did to SF.  Also, if I'm LaFleur I'm thinking about passing up FGs if the down and distance is 4th and 5 or shorter in Rams territory.  And that's anywhere in Rams territory.

I’ll be at this one making noise with hopefully a multitude of Packer backers. Should be a good chance to bounce back but nothing will come easy. Rams are trying to avoid drowning and Packers are out to prove we can beat he teams that we should beat, like contenders do.  Going to be a long week of work but I’m excited to see this team in person. Hope they get it together and get it right.

What are people's thoughts on Musgrave?

He seems to have disappeared a bit relative to the progress we saw last year.

He's struggling for sure. @vegas492 opined he may have an undisclosed injury. Don't know what Kraft has clearly passed him and Kraft couldn't practice much in the preseason.

I also don't think the staff like Musgrave's effort blocking.

I honestly don't think he's hindered by a injury, moved around fine out there, Kraft is just so much better as a blocker, when they aren't using 2 TE sets Musgrave isn't on the field.

I don't know whether or not he's injured, just like you stated.  He just doesn't look "right" to me, on the field.  Either he's thinking too much and playing slow, or there is something there that is limiting him.

Then there is this....we were run heavy for two weeks.  Obviously Luke wasn't going to get a ton of snaps in run heavy looks.  We know he's a flex TE or receiving TE.  He wasn't drafted to block.  Odds are the staff is very good with him in that role.

But yes, the effort and results, when asked to block should be concerning.  He's got to be better at that, even if his primary role is that of a receiving TE.  Otherwise he's just a tall slow dude trying to play WR.  He's gotta get better.

This is going to be a tough game.  Should we win yah probably.  Will we win dunno.  That D-line has me very concerned.  You have to get pressure on the QB or forget it.  Love was rusty for sure and it showed.  Hopefully he'll show improvement this week.  Packers aren't playing very good ball at the moment.  So I'll temper my expectations.

Start everyone on fantasy. We’ve let everyone run the score on us. The defense is really bad. You guys are deff getting over 200 rushing… Still very injured. Do you guys have good Olinemen? Our saving grace is our young guys up front. Besides that, Love is going to feast on this secondary.. I would be shocked if it isn’t 44-16 type score. We are bad bad.

This game is simple, get a pass rush from our DL, we win (against an awful OL). If we don't, it's likely 2-3 unless Love and Co. can simply out score the Rams.

Not sure if Kupp is playing, but if he's not, we should still be able to outscore them.

Either way our defensive line needs to wake up and start creating havoc. They have been collectively abysmal.
