Dr A W Niloc
If we look at differentials in yards and points, for and against, Houston should be significantly favored (i.e. differentials +20 or more) in six games going forward from Week #5: @N.E., Indianapolis, Tennessee twice, Jacksonville, and Miami. The Texans should be slight faves against Dallas and the Jets. Green Bay and Baltimore are toss-ups so let's give Houston one of those. That is (6+2+1+4=) 13 total wins with a decent shot at 14, depending on upsets. Wk v Opnt Yardage | Scoring | W/L Win @ For Vs | For Vs | | | Hous 6th 4th | 19 17 | 4-1 6+3 | | 6 @ N.E. 31 24 | 31 9th | 1-4 +49 7 @ G.B. 4th 21 | 8th 14 | 3-2 +3 8 v Indi 13 32 | 13 25 | 2-3 +37 9 @ Jets 27 2nd | 25 T5th | 2-3 +13 10 v Detr 3rd 22 | 7th 10 | 3-1 -7 11 @ Dall 12 15 | 15 23 | 3-2 +19 12 v Tenn 30 1st | 20 15 | 1-3 +20 13 @ Jkvl 15 31 | 21 30 | 1-4 +51 14 BYE | | 15 v Miam 21 6th | 32 16 | 2-3 +29 16 @ K.C. 11 9th | 14 T5th | 5-0 -7 17 v Balt 1st 19 | 2nd 26 | 3-2 +2 18 @ Tenn 30 1 | 20 15 | 1-3 +20 The fly in the ointment is that the Texans are new as favorites. This will show if they have killer instincts. Bottom Line: There aren't any 1985 Bears class defenses here. Houston doesn't face many good offenses and will be a tough out for teams without one.
