GDT Week 6 Detroit at Dallas 4:25 on Fox

Recommended Posts

Dallas at 3-2 and coming off a last second/4th down TD after almost begging to give the victory away.

Detroit - 3-1 coming off a bye week. 2 weeks to prepare for us.

Home game for Dallas. But Dallas has looked it's worst this season in 2 home games where once upon a time Dallas was so hard to beat there.

Truth is, the game in Pitts was one thing, but a real sign of how our season will go is can we string a solid victory against a good team at home. Can you imagine going 0-3 at home and somehow thinking we may have anything but a disastrous season coming.

Hope is for M Parsons (and Lawrence) to return. But will he even be effective with a "high ankle" sprain.

How will our defense fair against a much better QB??

Who is/will be starting at O-line?

Can Dak play without giving it away?

Who will step up and help CD Lamb from constant 2 man attention. Is there anyone that can?

Running game? improvement or just 1 game (really a half)?

Not only is Detroit coming off a bye for this one, they've had their eye on a rematch against Dallas in Dallas ever since Week 17 of last year. Make no mistake, they wanted to face us again in the playoffs and believe they would've beaten us.

We're going to see the absolute best version of one of the absolute best teams in the league. I would be pretty stunned to see us pull this one out. I'm thinking something like 33-14 Detroit.

Well Dak and the offense just don’t score in the first half of games. Typically it’s late 3rd quarter and on when we get our points. That can work against teams that also can’t score like the Browns, Giants, and Steelers. But we have one of the least expensive defenses in the league. I can’t expect them to stop the best QB from the 2016 draft, plus Gibbs, Montgomery, St Brown, a stud OL, and Laporta for 3 quarters while Dak warms up. This one won’t be close.

Detroit jumps out early and doesn’t look back. Det 34 Dal 27

Score looks closer than it is because we score 17 points in the 4th qt.

Lawrence can not return for a min of 3 more games. He was placed on IR.

I don’t want to see Micah back on field till he is 95-100 percent. High Ankle Sprains can easily be aggravated or worse yet, turn into something worse if not healed completely.

Now, I want to see if Bland returns this week!! Can get better pass rush if our secondary gets shored up some.

We are going to get destroyed.  Detroit is just a better team and their strengths match up well against our weaknesses.  Then throw in the revenge factor, it’s going to get ugly.  It’s possible (maybe even likely) that we’ll see the Dak special… putting up meaningless points down 3 TDs in the 4th quarter.

Everything everyone is stating about Dallas getting crushed and their reasonings are true. But the one thing I have noticed throughout these years, when almost/everyone counts them out of a game is when they surprise us. It's only when Dallas has a should/must win game expectations do they disappoint.

That and I foolishly believe they can't possible lose 3 straight at home to start the season... Right? right right

Will we go with the OL that ended the game against Pitts.  Say what you want about things but there was a marked improvement in both run blocking and pass protection which we desperately needed.  I do wish we had a 100% cooks this year besides Lamb we are really limited in running complicated routes with our WR’s.  That stat about us being in the bottom of the nfl in WR separation is a highly underrated stat and speaks volumes to me about some of our issues sustaining drives.
The big issue I see this game though is Det will probably be real good in mixing up their O with quick passes to receivers we have no hope of being in the same neighborhood (not much close press coverage) for fear of getting beat deep and misdirection runs passes to the flat that routinely destroys our D.

what also would really really help in this game if we don’t start the game with conservative play calls that seem to do nothing but see what the other team is doing on D rather then come out with a varied attack plan that is designed to move the chains and not depend upon some how converting 3rd and 6 or more when the D knows we are gonna pass
