minutemancl
This is exactly why not starting your rookie QB right away is a good idea in theory, but not always the best idea in practice. The Patriots OL is in god awful shape right now. Undoubtedly, part of the reason Maye didn't start week 1 was because it wasn't in a good shape to start the season, but it is even worse now. Your team is losing and the offense looks bad, so your coach is looking to save face with ownership, and ownership is probably hoping to inject some hope into the fanbase to keep them interested for the rest of the year. What that ends up doing is serving who you hope is the future face of your franchise up to the wolves in a less than favorable situation. Everyone knows this is a desperation move. You can't justify leaving Brissett in much longer. It sucks for Maye, but hopefully he makes the most of it and shows out.

AZ_Eaglesfan
If he isn’t a huge spark to their offense this move sucks. They should have let him sit.

HTTRDynasty
Should have started him last week if they were gonna do this. I still think he’ll play well for the season and this will be considered a historically great QB class.
AFlaccoSeagulls
Starting him behind that OL is coaching malpractice.

El Ramster
the best QB from the draft returns to take his rightful place as heir to the throne. Move out the way zesty, move out the way bootleg rg3, move out the way a Punter for a QB in Denver and stay on the bench convict. THE KING IS HERE. Revenge Szn incoming. pats to the playoffs are a lock baby. We are so back.
wackywabbit
They said that Daniels wouldn't be able to function behind the Washington line right? Maybe getting a younger more mobile QB will make it easier for the line. I don't think we need to be too precious with rookie QBs.

You put your guy in the best situation to succeed, throwing him to the wolves against a top tier defense with a terrible offensive line is not the right call lol. Injuries force him in.....sure. Fine. Brissett is still firmly not burnt yet. Unless Maye and the offense adjust to getting the ball out super quick he's gonna suffer.
