In our base two-wide receiver formations we’ll obviously roll with Chase while rotating Coleman and Johnson in at the other spot. Chase is our obvious all-around threat at all levels of the field. Coleman provides us with some explosion on offense as well as a big body for blocking, which is why he’ll be starting and be the main option as our 2nd receiver. When Johnson is on the field instead of Coleman, he provides us with a reliable possession target who can can get open and get some good targets. For both of them, we want a lot of quick routes and targets like slants or curls. Johnson can turn those into an easy catch with good yardage while they give Coleman a chance to make big plays out of them. When we move to three-wide receiver sets, expect Dyami Brown to rotate in some as well. He gives us a deep threat option. We really want to focus this week on feeding the ball to Chase on the outside as we feel that’s an area he can have success against this Berlin secondary.

This week, Luepke will see more involvement, stepping into the backfield role previously handled by Kraft, as Kraft’s usage as a breakout TE will see more action and development this week. We expect Luepke to contribute with solid blocking and the occasional carry/catch, helping us wear down their front seven. Kraft will be the other focus of our passing game, we want to get him the ball often to test that linebacker core of Berlin.

At times, Coleman will shift to the slot to either block or act as a decoy in running plays. We also plan to mix Gibbs into the rotation as a fourth wide receiver, which will allow us to run screen plays or spread out the defense to counter their stacked fronts.

Our strategy revolves around controlling the clock and gradually wearing down the defense. Montgomery and Gibbs will both rotate, either by play or series, ensuring that we stay fresh while maintaining a physical edge.

We know the main guy we have to focus on – the wrecking ball Nick Bosa. This is where you will see a lot of Luepke, Kraft, and the 2nd option RB in the game. Their focus is to assist Ikem or Taylor, depending on what side Bosa is lined up on. Always know where Bosa is. Our interior should be able to handle theirs well enough.

Some of this is going for broke with Hurts - thus relying on Kraft more. Expect to see some attacking on their back 7 a little more. Nothing fancy, as we need to get the ball out quick, but let’s make their back 7 work a little to beat our offense. I expect them to expect more run, so adding more passing on 1st down might catch them off guard.

Lancaster Defense:

Berlin has some nice weapons and a good young QB but we think we have an advantage in the trenches. Our goal this week is to attack the offensive line and keep Stroud off balance all game. We want to force him into tough throws that out secondary can take advantage of. Our defense knows that to win games they’ve got to play lights out to give the offense a chance, so that’s what we plan to do. Our goal is to create splash plays.

We have a new look to the defensive line this week as Keion White has been traded away. Luckily we could afford to make a move like that because of the stellar play of Jared Verse, who will step into the starting lineup with no issues. We expect to bring the same amount of heat after the QB with Watt and Verse attacking the OL. We think we will have the most success against the interior of the Berlin OL so we want Madubuike to really focus on getting after Stroud. Expect to see a few stunts throughout the game to get Watt or Verse going against the interior as well.

This week we’ll be in our usual cover 2 shell with different post snaps looks. Unlike the usual, we’ll be going slightly more man-heavy this week with a roughly 60-40 man to zone split. We know Berlin likes to spread the ball out to the receivers so we really want to focus on stopping the passing game. In man, we’ll be roughly evenly split with our safeties staying two deep or one of them coming up in the box as a robber. Man assignments will be Ramsey on Wilson, Stephens on Reed, Hilton on Aiyuk, Warner on Geodert, and Luvu on the RB. We want to mix in a fair bit of press coverage (mainly when we have two deep safeties) this week as well to disrupt timing on routes, and give our pass rush a little more time to get home. We want to make Stroud work for it this game. When we go to zone looks expect cover 3 and cover 4 mainly.

Overview
We have strung together some good wins, but now we face a desperate and dangerous Lancaster team.

Offense
Even with the trade of Keion, the Lancaster DL is formidable.  Our interior is playing very well now, so we will trust them to hold their own.  If Watt is lined up against Wirfs, we will let them battle.  If Watt lines up against Kolton, we will regularly slide protection, chip, and otherwise give Kolton a hand.  We also want to make use of motions and pocket movement to keep those LBers from getting too comfortable in their reads.

Running Game
Dowdle has been running well lately, so we will start by giving all 3 RBs carries early on and see if one shows a hot hand.  All 3 will be utilized in the run and pass and all 3 will run inside and out.  Dowdle will be used in short yardage and late game situations to keep the chains and the clock moving.  We will use the OT not on the Watt side as a pulling lead blocker to help clear a path.  We will use a few more screens and draws this week to keep their DL off balance.

Passing Game
Stroud will look for the single coverage and attack.  We will go under center and from shotgun.  We will utilize play-action and rollouts to move the pocket away from that defensive line.  We will typically have at least one receiver pushing deep to allow Stroud to take deep shots.  We think that the Lancaster secondary has vulnerabilities and want to exploit those matchup advantages.

3 WR – 65% - Garrett/Reed/Drake/Goedert/RB – Reed will typically be in motion whether it’s a quick motion outside or longer motion across the formation.  All 3 will run full route trees to keep the defense from being able to key on one guy.  We will on occasion give a jet sweep look to Reed to force the defense to flow sideways.  We will have a balanced run-pass ratio from this set with Stroud having the ability to change the play at the line.  Aiyuk will rotate in if any WR needs a breather to give the defense a different type of WR to defend.

2 TE – 10% - Garrett/Aiyuk/Goedert/Darnell/Rico – We will use this set in short yardage and goalline situations, but we are going to split out our TEs on occasion here to attack more on the edges via quick WR screens.

4 WR – 25% - Garrett/Drake/Aiyuk/Reed/RB – We will typically be out of shotgun here and will spread out the defense to see if Lancaster’s DBs can hold up with Stevenson out.  We will run from this set, including draws and screens, to fore the Lancaster pass rush to play honest.  Look for jet sweep motion from Reed or Aiyuk regularly to supplement the run game.

Defense
We welcome back Antoine Winfield Jr and Terrel Bernard against some strong Lancaster weapons.  Our goal is to shut down the top weapons and make someone else beat us.  We will play an even mix of man and zone with the primary coverages being Cover 1 Man and Cover 3 Zone.  We will mix in a little Cover 2 Man, Cover 2 Zone, and Cover 4 Zone.

DL – Trey, Nick, and Quinnen will play as many snaps as possible.  Mazi, Tillery, and DaVon will rotate at the other DT spot with DaVon getting more pass rushing opportunities and Mazi and Tillery working more on early downs.  Bonitto will get DPR work to spell our edge guys.

LB – In nickel man coverage(including 2 RB sets), Terrel will sit in a middle zone and spy Hurts.  He will mirror Hurts everywhere to limit easy completions.  Jordyn will have Montgomery in man coverage.  In 2 TE, Zaire will play MLB and play the middle zone while one of Terrel and Jordyn take the RB and other takes the non-Kraft TE.

CB – Deonte take Chase, Benford take the WR2, and Witherspoon is going to take Gibbs or the slot WR in 3 WR sets.  We will consistently give Deonte help over the top and see if the WR2 can beat Benford on an island.  If they go 2 TE, Deonte comes off and Devon takes Chase.  If they go 4 wide, Terrion comes in for Jordyn and plays the other slot.

S – Bynum will play deep all game with a solid shade to Chase’s side to bracket.  Winfield is going to play up in the box to give us numbers against the run and have the emerging Kraft in man coverage.

Pollard had a good game at least

On the other side Hurts looked better than he has this season after a slow start against the Browns

Yea I assumed he is treated as OUT this week, considering he has to prove he clears concussion protocol (and the assumption was he would likely be available for Week 7 in reports I read due to having the extra bye week to recover). But, Pollard is an ideal backup with how he played and the other Berlin skill positions had very good weeks.

So typically, a player gets the same status for the bye week as he had the week prior.

Like last year, Goedert played, got hurt and missed 3 weeks, but I was able to use him the following week because the Eagles were on a bye even though he wouldn't have played.

I mean it’s up to each voter… Blue has been counting guys out that get injured early in games

So same status in the bye week as they had "entering the prior week's game" - is that the correct interpretation. I genuinely have gotten so many different answers on this I am trying to keep it straight.

That is how I've done it since the days that Centurion was running BDL.

Only real exception is if a guy has been dealing with a hamstring injury, tries to play, aggravates it, leaves the game, and then they have a bye.  Pre-existing injury.

And who has Gibbs the nickel? Or Winfield

I missed some detail.  Forgot to update my PM after typing it in the word doc.

One of the LBers has the RB and one spies Hurts in 3 WR sets.

I had more detail, but I feel like explaining more fully would be post-submission gameplanning.
