D82
That definitely sucks for them. Ah well, their season was likely a wash anyway. Get healthy and come back next year when they hopefully have a good QB.

He’s been extremely good for us.
DawgX
Definitely hate to see it, but the Giants are better off sucking this year, anyway.
minutemancl
It's not confirmed yet that he's out for the season, but it is definitely leaning that way. He's fantastic when he's healthy, but he's missed, and looks to miss, quite an amount of time since signing his big deal. He's still worth the contract we gave him, but when the QB situation gets figured out he needs to play a full 17. The sack numbers on him this year are a fugazi. Myself and others have watched every one of his snaps this year and at least 2 of the sacks, and some of the pressures, attributed to him by some of these stat keepers are BS. Off the top of my head, there is the one where Daniel Jones trips over AT's feet and sack fumbles himself, and then there is another where a T-E stunt is not handled correctly by Runyan and AT gets kind of the 'closest defender in coverage' treatment. He's been great this year, with the Bengals game being the worst I've seen him since his rookie year, and he was obviously dealing with this injury during that game. He was limping between series. WheatieMan
Giants have had the worst luck of any franchise since the Eli championship runs... that's karma for you. Giant fans should have taken those SBs and driven off into the sunset. Take the memories with you and find other people to root for if not another team all together. I am a Cowboy fan and I feel bad. Just a few more years of this suffering, and then I wouldn't mind if the Giants turned it around afterwards while we suck.
minutemancl
The biggest implications here are, again, about Daniel Jones. Last year, with Andrew Thomas out, the replacement left tackle let Andrew Van Ginkel blow by him untouched and sack Daniel Jones so hard that he knocked him out for 3 additional games with a re-aggravated neck injury. Jones can be cut after this year relatively cleanly, but not if he's injured. There are injury guarantees in his contract. If he gets a 3rd neck injury this year, the Giants could be looking at an untouchable, unplayable $40 million QB sitting on their roster. That would be the absolute worst case scenario. It may not be this week, but you've got to consider benching Daniel Jones soon. At best, he's too inconsistent to be in anyone's long term plans. Without Andrew Thomas, his risk of injury is much, much higher and the last thing the Giants can afford is being forced to stick with Jones because of an another serious injury.

They are 78-122-1 since 2012, which is the 4th worst record in football in that timeframe. 2 playoff appearances, in which they are 1-2. Negative point differential in all but 2 seasons in that span as well. It has been really, really bad.

They've drafted poorly, but literally all the names you've heard of, Odell, Saquon, Jones, now Thomas, have had season ending injuries at some point while on the roster. Then count the countless defensive players you probably haven't heard of, but were still contributors. It just hasn't stopped. Probably the Turf Monster in MetLife.
