RedGold
Greenland Offensive Game Plan: Formations: 3 Wide (55%) 4 Wide (15%) 12 Personnel (15%) 21 Personnel (15%) Breakdown: 55/45 Pass/Run Plan of attack: -Establish the run: Going with a power-run game this week to exploit the interior defensive line's potential weakness of Hungary. Plays like counters and traps. -Play-action passing: Use the run to set up play-action passes, targeting the linebackers' potential coverage issues against our TEs -Attack the nickel corner: Use our slot receivers or tight ends to exploit Moss and Conner when they are in coverage. Posts, slants, and quick outs. -Utilize quick passes: Neutralize the pass rush with quick slants, screens, and short passes. -Target the linebackers: Use tight ends or receivers to attack Pace Jr. and David in coverage. -Screen passes to neutralize the aggressiveness if Hungary's edges -We look at a 55/25/20 split with Barkley/Conner/Allen -In our 21 personnel we want to get Barkley and Allen on the field together -Jonnu is our TE2 in 12 Personnel and we will look to move him around presnap. -Lamb moves to X when in any 2 WR sets -Combo Routing utilizing various skill sets of our pass catchers. Pittman’s size as a possession weapon, Diggs agility at Z and Lambs overall balance in the slot. Defensive Game Plan: Formations: Nickel- Against 3 Wide Dime- Against 4 Wide 5-2- Against heavy sets 4-3- Against 2TE or 2RB 4-4- where applicable Coverage: Mix of primarily 2 High Shell Man and Cover 3. More Cover 3 and even some cover 6 when in Dime Plan of attack: Breaking this weeks gameplan vs Hungary offense down into Goff, Front 7 and Secondary plans of attack Goff -We want to exploit Goff's inconsistency by using various coverage and pressure to confuse him. -We want to use pressure packages and blitz frequently to disrupt Goff's timing and force quick decisions. -Mix coverages: Combine man-to-man and zone defenses to confuse Goff and limit his reads. -Disguise coverage: Hide defensive backs to make Goff think he has an open receiver. -On clear passing downs we want to take away deep throws by playing safeties deep to limit Goff's long-ball attempts. -Exploit Goff's weaknesses as he struggles with interior pressure and throws under pressure, so we want to target him up the middle with A gap blitzes when we can Front 7 -Lots of pressure packages: we want to utilize creative blitzes to exploit weakness in Hungary's Oliver, especially if RG Puni and RT Little play -Run defense: Stack the box with 7 and 8 men to counter Hall and Mostert's running styles. -Shift, slant and stunt our dline to create mismatches, especially if Puni and Little are in the game, but we want to attack using this against both side of the line to not become predictable Secondary -Double Team Hopkins by using bracket coverage and safety help to limit his impact. -Playing bully ball at the line of scrimmage again this week with our big DBs. We want to get physical and shove their WRs off their routes and control them from the snap -Zone Coverage: we want underneath zones at times to contain Austin and Baker Hungary Offense: Playbook WCO with layered concepts. 60/40 Run/Pass. Formations: 3WR - 50% 21 - 30% 2TE - 15% 4WR - 5% Goal: Brutalize Greenland where it hurts, the dline. Greenland has an issue and it's lackluster DTs. Greenland lost another DT to IR in Nicols this week. This leaves Dexter, a turn style in Breese, depth player Mathis and just activated from the practice squad Butler. Our o-line is an absolute elite run blocking line especially in the middle with three men who are from three of the most high profile running offenses Faalele (Ravens) Linderbaum (Ravens) and Puni (49ers). We will hit the A gap and B gap early and often in this matchup to gash Greenland with our stable of backs in Breece, Mostert and Ekeler. On outside runs we will look to neutralize Roquan Smith with an Ertz block to get one of the backs open at the second level. Out of 21 formation Ridley will sit in favor of bringing on Mostert or Ekeler. Playing 21 helps us as either back can tote the ball and if there is a RB spy they won't know which one to focus on at any given time. Additionally, main reason playing 21 is important is because we can read the defense by flex Breece, Mostert or Ekeler out wide on any given play. If Greenland continues to play 4-3 man against 2RB then it pulls a LB out of position and again lightens up the box for the other back. This also makes them susceptible to the pass. In recent weeks Devin Lloyd has been their 3rd LBer and he has been hot garbage in pass defense. If he is covering Ertz or RB2 we will throw his direction all day. RB Snaps: 3WR Hall 60 Mostert 30 Ekeler 10 21 Hall 100 Mostert 50 Ekeler 50 Passing Game: With the running game leading the way, our main aim with the passing game is neutralize the edge rush. We will be using quick passes via quick outs and corner routes to open up space in the middle of the defense for the RB and TE. We will use screens to our RBs and hit Ertz in the flats to take advantage of the vacated space. With Woolen out and a gimpy Lattimore nursing recurring hamstring issues it puts a lot more pressure on Lewis/Forbes to try to step up on defense next to Porter Jr. We will look for the Johnson mismatch in coverage. If Lewis gets slotted to DHop we will use his physicality to get the ball as DHop has a size and mass advantage against Lewis. Ridley will only be used in 3WR, he will be used in end around runs to force his CB coverage to cover the length of the field especially if gimpy is assigned to him. Defense: It's time to take Greenland to the woodshed. To do this we have to focus on Greenlands weakness, it's interior offensive line. Trey Smith and Aaron Banks are solid run blocking OGs put suck in pass pro. Ryan Kelly has a lingering neck and calf injury and has been a liability for multiple seasons. This week we will collapse Greenlands pocket by using Reed (17 pressures on the season) and pass rushing monster Calijah Kancey in the center of the defense. By collapsing the pocket we won't be giving Mayfield an opportunity to hit his WRs deep like he enjoys doing. Meanwhile Crosby and Anderson will be alternating edge sides to give Darrisaw and Latham different looks. We want to oush them to the limits and keep Mayfield inside his collapsing pocket. Occasionally, Crosby will slide inside while Oweh comes on for Reed. We want to use Crosbys size and speed inside to take down the unsuspecting Mayfield. Coverage: Base: Nickel 2 High Shell Man Single High and Cover 3 in short yardage situations. Against 4 wide will go Dime Cover 3 and Cover 4 In 2 WR 2 TE formations Pace will come on the field. Coverage Assignments: Moss on Ceedee Mitchell on Pittman Davis on Diggs DeJean on 4WR LBs will bevin gap defense to clog lanes against Barkley. Wilson has TE coverage. David has RB coverage. Pace will cover TE2. Safeties for the most part are preventing the deep pass. Edited October 20 by RedGold

Scoundrel
I’m less concerned about Bilal Nichols being out as I am Greenland thinking Mathis and Nichols could be edge depth… the Hungary receivers are just not producing. I know they are in a better situation here though so need to take that into consideration. I like the defensive plan better than last week so there’s a start…
SirA1
This one shouldn't be that close but the Hippos barely pay lip service to Barkley one of the best RBs in the game with a half coherent sentence about LB in gaps as their Defensive game plan is all about the pass. I think the home team still takes it but Barkley is able to get his and make it close. 24-
InjuredReserve
I really don't understand aspects of the Greenland defensive gameplan tbh. Pretty similar to last week and I think these are its flaws: - if you have a formation that you cite as using "where applicable" i have no idea when I'm supposed to know you are using it. - I feel like the selling points of the pass defense is largely 2 high man and against the run the box is stacked.....I feel like we are trying to have our cake and eat it to. I think Hungary comes out with a running game that is much stronger than early season with Breece and Mostert healthy to act as RB2. Attack a light DL from Greenland and taking quick outs in the passing game that Greenland gives them in their coverage, i see a healthy lead in the 1st half by Hungary. Then their DL feasts in the 2nd half. Hungary 31 - Greenland
TedLavie
Going with Greenland relunctantly. I agree with IR about the gameplanning inconsistencies. Slater and Kelly should have been starting, while Wooden has been out for a while. And even though Bresee and Ruke can be emergency options on the edge, the fact that it's been 3 weeks since Greenland didn't claim an edge rusher despite having only 2 active natural guys is cause for concern. Despite all that, I think Greenland personnel is much better. Hungary went all in to defend the pass but I think théy're going to be marched on by Saquon and Conner. Also, cover 2 high will probably work against deep PA, but Lamb in the slot is really someone who can work on this defense. And I've been loving Baker this year. On the other side, I can excuse Hungary receivers because they work IRL with absolutely s***tty offenses (though they're part of it), but Hungary OL is a mess. Goff has been a stud but I think that's a bit too much on his plate here. Greenland 30 - Hungary
Malfatron
**Winner**: Hungary, 27-24 **Summary**: This game is tightly contested, but Hungary edges out Greenland by taking advantage of Greenland's interior defensive line weaknesses. Hungary's game plan to exploit the middle with Breece Hall, Raheem Mostert, and Austin Ekeler works effectively, consistently gaining yards on the ground. Jared Goff’s quick passes and ability to neutralize the Greenland pass rush prevent significant pressure, especially with Calen Bullock and Marshon Lattimore struggling to keep up with DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley. Greenland, led by Baker Mayfield, keeps it close with a balanced attack that highlights Saquon Barkley and their receiving trio. However, Hungary's pass rush, spearheaded by Maxx Crosby and Calijah Kancey, disrupts Mayfield's rhythm late in the game, leading to a critical turnover in the fourth quarter that seals the win for Hungary. Blue
Quote Ryan Kelly has a lingering neck and calf injury and has been a liability for multiple seasons. Kelly had an All-Pro caliber season just last year, lol. He's been excellent when he's been healthy--admittedly, that hasn't been super often in recent years. Bresee has also been quite good this year, not sure why PR thinks so poorly of both him and Dexter. But depth is a huge issue for the Greenland defensive front and I think the Hungary offense manages to do just enough to secure the win. For some reason Beaux Limmer is still starting over him here though. Less of a surprise last week since I kind of expected their to be doubt in his 1st week back, but I expected him in the Greenland lineup this week. vikes635
Greenland Polar Bears 31 @ Hungary Hippos 34 In this offensive show down the Home Team Hungary pulls off a narrow victory, I think while fun to add B. Allen in for 20% of the plays ultimately it was taking your studs off the field a little too often. On the other hand your plan didnt have much trouble putting points up. Hippos 2 star performances of Goff and Hall really bailed you out here but I don't know if that will be sustainable if your players don't get a QB irl to start throwing to them. TL-TwoWinsAway
Damn. Really wanted to go with Greenland - I think the combination of their receiving weapons and Mayfield's willingness to sling it is promising, and Saquon only helps - but Hungary is such a wagon right now. Again, Goff is playing efficient, mistake-free football, the Hungary weapons are also strong, and that defense looks scary. 38-35 Hungary in a thriller. RuskieTitan
I think both teams go through bursts of points and stretches of punts back and forth. Ultimately going with the home team Hippos edging out the Bears.
MD4L
I would’ve strongly considered pickle with a better writeup and Caleb starting bc the cover 2 shell. I think Wichita takes this one. The build of their team and their game plan matches well together. And Goff is absolutely scorching right now.
