Vladimir L
Qb market seems stupid expensive guys who aren’t even top 5 are all getting top 3 money Dak, Love , Herbert, Hurts and Tua besides Love and Herbert they all have expensive wr1 who take money away from other positions some even have wr2 who could be wr1 on other teams. isnt it better to build like the Seahawks and bucs who built good teams around their qb….or Vikings??? Or 49ers who soon will have to pay their qb unless you are Lamar , Brady, or Mahomes you aren’t getting away with this and they all weren’t paying top wr1 money. if I’m building a team it’s cheaper to have a te that gives you wr1 production, good online and a top rb which can be had for cheap. Apparition
Where would you have ranked Goff going into this year? Seems like the Lions have done exactly that, and they look like the best team in the NFL through 7 weeks. The Bucs and Vikings are in the same boat (har har).

They paid him this year but I think that money hasn’t kicked in yet. we will see in 2 years when they have to pay their younger players but they used this formula pretty much and built a good team around Geoff. Their defense carried them last Super Bowl and this year. Mahoma just shows up in big moment and makes up for wr weakness. Also getting WR1 production from your te helps. 14-17 mil for 1300, 1100, 980, and 1200 yard seasons from a te helps…if he was a wr1 he would get 28-30 million

Nick Bolton. L'Jarius Sneed. Trent McDuffie. George karlaftis. Willie Gay. Leo Chenal. Again, draft well and you can do pretty much whatever. They also seem to replace wr and they seem to do well enough like the Patriots did but again Mahomes is under paid and allows for money to be spent else where with team friendly deals. squire12
you can build a roster around anything. the question you are really looking at is can you build a competitive playoff achieving, title contending team around a top 10-15 QB and 2 WR #2 type players. I think you need more than that. OL, DL, EDGE and secondary need to be above average with no major weaknesses Teams that are/have been top 10-15 QB and 2 WR type #2 -- Miami, Seattle, Dallas, Minnesota, and they have not been real super bowl contenders

Only the first Kansas City Super Bowl has a star wr with mahomes on rookie deal . Brady also never had a star wr for his super bowls. Seahawks first Super Bowl was on a rookie qb deal. I'm not sure Love is a superstar top 5 QB, but I'm more bullish on his ability to be that than I am purdy.

NE and KC have been top 5ish defenses in those years without the star WR. Philly was 4th in ppg. You can do it, but you need to have the other pieces be top level to offset what the QB will not be able to make up for
