The Trade Deadline/Election Day Game:

Recommended Posts

Ok...So the Trade deadline ends on Election Day. November 4th. So does your picks, for participation of this game. (Midnight) Simple...

Rules:

1) Pick 1 Offensive Player & 1 Defensive Player you think/want us to trade for.

2) It cannot be someone else's picks/choices.  (No duplicates)

Scoring:

1) You get 10 points, if you correctly pick the Player.

2) You get 5 Points if you correctly pick the Position, but the wrong Player.

3) If you correctly pick the Positions on both Offense & Defense, but wrong on Players? You get 15 Points.

Bonus Scoring: (Optional)

If you want to try to win, in case of tiebreakers?

You may choose to add Draft Compensation on acquisition of players, positions on your list.

Example: if you have WR DeAndre Hopkins as your Offense Player Choice?

And you say he will be traded for a 3rd round pick. (You don't have to specify conditions or years on picks)

And Washington trades for WR Cooper Kupp for a 3rd round pick?

You would WIN the bonus Scoring. Which would net you an additional 10 Points.

That's it! Should be Fun! 🎉

I will keep a list on this Main Thread here.

It's funny that I used WR DeAndre Hopkins as my example in OP.

Because he's the first official trade, that kicks off this game.

He was traded to the Chiefs for a conditional 4th Rd selection.

Unfortunately, I just started the game 4 hours ago & everyone was asleep to post this trade.

I’ll say Jaycee Horn for a 3rd.

He did a decent job against Terry last Sunday so that will be fresh in Peters’/Quinn’s minds.

I am not in the same boat as others that we need to upgrade the WR room at the moment. Our WRs even outside of Terry have been a pleasant surprise. I'm fine with Noah being our #2, OZ in the slot and Dyami/LMC being worked in.

I think we may upgrade Noah as our #2 but re-sign him to be our #4 WR in the offseason with Tee Higgins or Mike Williams taking over as our #2 but I don't think we send draft picks away to acquire either player or Diontae Johnson who has questionable hands and constantly complains.

Diontae Johnson complained a lot in Pitt after Ben retired bc the offense became more run-oriented and that's why Pitt traded him to Carolina. I don't think Diontae is the type of guy we want in our locker-room with a young developing QB & young developing core.

I agree. I think any and all moves revolve around defense, but that wasn't the game. And I am not sure what else we would do on offense outside of an injury.

On the Grant & Danny show today they had Thomas Dimitriov on, the ex-Falcons GM from when Dan Quinn was the HC and he thought that Peters should try to trade for Crosby & a CB like Denzel Ward.

Dimitriov said in today’s NFL you can’t wait around hoping that being patient/conservative will help build your team. If you have a good young QB on his rookie deal you need to take advantage of that. And he said given the amount of cap space the C’s have next year it would make sense to try to trade for a pass rusher like Crosby or another good one & a CB who’s available.

Those two guys are in their prime too so we would keep them for years to come.
