Johnson I think is the next man up and he as fighting for starter snaps all camp. We reload at corner pretty well historically. Spagz has his DBs ready to roll. Still got plenty of time to make a move for now During training camp, Williams and several others were having a pitched battle. Watson was unable to participate. Once Watson was healthy, he quickly took the starting position. The name of the moment appears to be Christian Roland-Wallace, who had an interception in the 49ers game. CRW was slow in the 40, 4.64, and went undrafted. On the plus side, he had a great deal of starting experience in college, good size, strength, and excels at press coverage. To me all these DBs are pretty similarly leveled, in that they’re good. Watson eventually won it, but it was still a battle even once he got healthy. Nazeeh gets his shot, Connor steps up a bit in the slot, as will CRW and Williams. Spagz loves him some CRW btw. Raved about his intelligence and good play. I think he keeps Williams on special teams for the time being.
onejayhawk
Valid point. Decision-making in the secondary is critical. A fraction of a second's hesitation and you're beaten. Richard Sherman fell in the draft because he lacked speed. Brandon Flowers made the Pro Bowl for us and he was not fast. Everson Walls, who starred for Dallas in the 1980s, was slow.
